DOWN FALL BEFORE THE BED IS DUSTED!

That morning, as I started cleaning under my bed, I heard a squeal..

"Going where?"

I was amused..

"TO SERVE THE WORLD!"

I said with a deep urge within (desire)..

As, I finished 1/5 cleaning under the bed, I heard one more squeal..

"Going where?"

I was annoyed..

"What? I told that I am.....?"

I shot back (pride)..

As I finished 2/5 cleaning under the bed, I heard the next squeal..

"Going where?"

I lost my temper..

"Mind your business.. If you repeat that question again....!"

I shouted at top of my voice (anger)..

As I finished 3/5 cleaning under the bed, I heard the 4th squeal..

"Going where?"

I was worried beyond..

"Can't leave my plans to winds!"

I firmed up within (greed)..

As I finished 4/5 cleaning under the bed, I heard the 5th squeal..

"Going where?"

I was boiling within..

"I don't allow someone go ahead of me!"

I said with a bang (jealousy)..

As I finished cleaning under the bed, I heard the last squeal..

"Going where?"

"TO RULE THE WORLD!"

I shouted at the top of my voice (delusion)

NO DOUBT, WORK IS 100% WORSHIP!

From my bed, I thought lazily, "I'm off from work for the day!" 

Instantly, a few Proverbs/Quotes touched my ears..

• 'No bees, no honey; no work, no money!' - Proverb
• 'The lazy bones should work twice!' - South American Proverb
• 'A man grows most tired while standing still!' - Chinese Proverb
• 'Mankind's worst enemy is fear of work!'-- Unknown
• 'When I had money, every one called me brother!'-- Polish Proverb

Taken a back, I pulled up and declared, "OK.. Ready for 8 hrs!"

Again few Proverbs/Quotes poured in..

• 'I have 2 Masters, Devil and God. I work for Devil until lunch and follow the Lord!' -- Gypsy Proverb
• 'You will never plough a field if you only turn it over in your mind!' -- Irish proverb
• 'When I was a young man I observed that nine out of ten things I did were failures. I didn't want to be a failure, so I did ten times more work!' -- G B Shaw
• 'It's quite possible to work without results but never will there be results without work!' -- Unknown

Not able to get off from those Messages, I firmed up. "OK.. OK.. Promise more than 8 hrs!" 

Instantly I heard..

• 'Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but the seeds you plant!' -- Robert Louis Stevenson

That message went deep into my heart and I modified my say, "Promise quality work more than 8 hrs a day!" 

In no time, one more quote was heard..

• 'Try not to become a person of success but try to become a person of value!' -- Albert Einstein

Shaken up again, I instantly changed it. "Let me do that quality work in shorter time!" 

The Great Entrepreneur was smiling at me saying,

• 'It's not the Employer who pays the wages. Employers handle the money. It's the customer who pays the wages!' -- Henry Ford

Felt bad having ignored the fact therein and I corrected myself. "Let me do the highest quality work and wait till my customer accepts it!" 

I was gently reminded at that point of time thru' the famous quote..

• 'Know what you own and know why you own it!' -- Peter Lynch

I got it and corrected fully myself with my decision. "Let me do all that work sincerely and impress my customer to get future orders for my company!" 

Still, I was not freed and another gentle reminder followed..

• 'Money grows on trees of persistence!' -- Japanese Proverb

"Thanks for the great Sayings.. Finally I understood what a sincere work is and I'll do my work to get future orders keeping off rivals from my customer!"

Great Personalities never left me there and thru' their Sayings showed where I can improve!

• 'Chose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life!' -- Confucius
• 'Pleasure in job puts perfection in work!' -- Aristotle
• 'May the work of your hands be the gratitude and reverence to the human condition!' -- MK Gandhi

Finally, as I bowed down to Great Personalities for awakening me and putting me into the best mode of working with total dedication, right at that moment Sloka 10, Chapter III, Bhagavad Gita was heard on distant loud speakers with the meaning explained..

"saha-yajnah prajah srstva
purovaca prajapatih
anena prasavisyadhvam
esa vo ’stv ista-kama-dhuk."

"Having first created mankind together with ygna,
the Prajapati said, ‘By this shall you propagate; Let this be to you the cow of plenty!’"

MAKE IT; MAR IT.. IT'S MY CHOICE ALONE!

3 friends retired from their respective jobs in certain short intervals of time and were busy in their own future plans..

“I worked for 35 years and had given the maximum to my family in terms of my monies, time and energies..

Now it's time for me to rest and let the family members take care of all that required. I‘ll play with the Little Ones around me and spend my time peacefully with my family helping them out here and there!” 

One thought and continued to be at home relaxing beyond.. 

Anyhow the Saying goes,

'Freedom is my birth right!'

But equally the Saying goes..

'Familiarity breeds contempt!'

Soon, there were misunderstandings in the joint family, all found him one way or the other pampering the Littles Ones beyond staying as an obstacle in their busy life..

The friends and well-wishers advised him saying that at his age 

'Keeping calm everywhere!' 

Is the best attitude in life!

“I have worked so many years and picked up a great experience. My Company might have retired me routinely but by God’s Grace, still my energies are intact. Being in a fit condition, there's no point in doing small jobs here and there.. 

I’ll take up an active work where my requirement exists and start earning decent monies again. Beyond I'll be interacting with the Little Ones around me where possible helping the family members here and there where my time permits!” 

Thought the 2nd one, instantly got into a hectic job along with other activities by the side.. 

Anyhow, the Saying goes..

'No pains, no gains!'

But equally the Saying goes..

‘Look before you leap!’

The gentleman continued to be more active than permitted for his age, soon the hectic physical movements had their toll on his body and he was advised to rest for a long time..

The friends and well-wishers consoled him saying that at his age 

'Slowing down!'

Is the best attitude in life!

“I am retired means my capacities are reasonably down but that is not the end to all the exertions as the body maintenance must go on and on till the limbs move to the last second. Here self help alone is the best help which truly gets back the respect needed in life..

Let me continue doing all my basic works myself and in addition, work out a few moderate plans for the family members.. 

Beyond let me actively interact with the Little Ones around me where exactly they need my presence and thus be helpful and supportive to the family members in their take care by doing certain specific side works for which they do not find time.. 

At the same time let me if possible devote part of my time for continuation of my profession for an honorarium..

Let rest of the time go in thoughts of God and let this life move further in that way alone!” 

Thus thought the 3rd gentleman and straight started living that life..

Anyhow, the Saying goes..

'Where there is a will there is a way!'

And equally the Saying goes..

'Truth alone Triumphs!'

Strangely, the last one alone could reasonably do what he wished for and none commented on, criticized or worked against his decisions.

The friends and well-wishers .commended him saying that at his age, 

'Being Moderate everywhere'

Is the best attitude in life!

YES.. I AM A UNIQUE PERSONALITY.. SORRY, WHAT DID I SAY?

I strongly firmed up..

"Right from this very moment, I'll cultivate 3 good habits in my life..

• Never become angry,
• Never be jealous and
• Never feel proud hereafter!"

MY rigorous discipline started instantly and 3 months passed. I could see a

'UNIQUE CHANGE'

In me with

Anger
Jealousy and
Pride

Totally rooted out in me!

That evening as I was on my usual stroll in the park, 3 strange entities greeted me from behind. As I looked back, they said..

"Hello! How are you?"

I said,

"I've never seen you before. Don't want to talk to strangers!"

As I continued my walk, again the 3 entities called..

"Hi! Don't have sense? I don't know you I said and you are still following me. Have some manners!"

I shouted back..

"We are not strangers. We were with you all these years and few months back, you alone decided to live without us!"

The entities said..

"Oh! You people? Nice to see you in these funny shapes. Good, I got rid of you. All these years, my that neighbor was feeling so proud that he alone could win over one of you. Not one, 3 of you I checked out in no time.. Better you 3 mend your ways!"

I replied..

"Sorry for our earlier mistakes. We are shelterless presently. Give us some space.. Promise, we we'll never give you a problem!"

"Enough.. I know what all promises you made all those years but in the nick of time, how you made me face my fate.. Any way, I successfully said a firm 'NO' to you 3!

Remaining 3 too, soon I am planning to get rid off. It's just matter of time, I'll free myself from 6 of you, the eternal enemies of human once for all!"

Saying thus, I turned back and headed homeward. On the way I met few of my junior members of my group. I instantly cautioned..

"Hello, dear! Don't go that side. Just now I saw.... You are the beginners and those entities can take their revenge on you because I said firmly 'NO' to them. You are like tender plants in the field and got to grow a lot before you face such incidents..

You know.. To me, such an experienced man too, those entities were talking so sweetly to trap me. Of course, as I was knowing their drama, they could do nothing!"

Instantly, my juniors turned back on my word and soon moved away from the place. As I walked further few yards, I saw 3 limping entities looking at me..

"Who are you? Why are you staring at me?"

I asked..

"Have you not recognized us?"

The entities asked.. I was amused..

"Is it another story? Are you pretending to gain sympathy? No way.. Actually, it's nice to see you limping.. You got your lesson.. Get off from me!"

"Have you forgotten? This is my friend 'Calmness', me the 'Humility' and this is my other friend 'Joy' following you for the past few months to make friendship with you but you mercilessly threw us out causing grievous hurt to us allowing those 3 entities, 'Anger','Pride' and 'Jealousy' you met in the park continue play their endless games!"

AM I THE ZERO OR HERO HERE?

A man of mid 30s was having healthy habits, working hard and caring for family max but his life was never smooth with certain problems constantly coming up..

As he was thus totally confused on how to pull on in such a situation, one day one of his elderly well-wishers who earlier guided many people on issues in life happened to meet him. After a brief, the man narrated him his woes and lamented, 

“I'm such a sincere person and all along leading a simple life. Why not even this is allowed by the Almighty? I never asked anything beyond!”

The elderly looked at him, smiled and said, 

“The Almighty is giving you the best in your life. You alone are not making use of that and lamenting!”

The man could not digest that comment. He blurted out, 

“Sir! You are free and so you easily say that I am fine. Unless you experience my situation, you will not understand the difficulty!”

The elderly smiled and said, 

“Dear! Don't get upset.. What I mean to say is..  

 ‘Nothing is less with me!’ 

Should be the feeling one should carry within all along of course, with all humility.  You can do that even now.. The only thing is you don't want to feel like that. Instead, you are happy in stooping down to a level saying, 

‘Why God does not give me even this small life, I asked?’ 

Making yourself a

ZERO

Of your life?

Please see the 5 'D's ever with you which God had given you without asking..

DETERMINATION.. Let me face it,
DECISION.. Let me stop doing the wrong whatever,

DARINGNESS.. Let me start repenting correcting where ever erred,

DEDICATION.. Let me accommodate my next man as much,

DRIVE.. Let me live with an attitude of taking whatever comes thru’ beyond 

No one has stopped you from making use of these 5 but you only have no plans to use them. My sincere advice is..

Leave the lamenting attitude and rise in your life.. Start making use of 5 'D's next to you by

Holding onto the required discipline in total,

Engaging in constructive works as many,

Roping in the required resources as much and

Organizing the best way the task in front 

Become a 

HERO

Of your life. I promise.. 

You will no more lament and complain!"

POSSESSIONS.. DOER.. NO 1.. WHAT ARE THESE WORDS?

A deep thinker one night had strange thoughts thus..

“As I look back into my past life in a nut shell, apart from the few downs I experienced, most of the time my life was reasonably smooth and because of this I was of the view till this moment that,

I AM THE OWNER OF MY POSSESSIONS,

I AM THE DOER,

I AM NO 1!  

But if I look once again carefully into my past, it is very clear that out of the total time of this 'take care', I was practically physically with my possessions and my people only for a short  time. Most of the time, they were under the care of the System and the related people around only..  

AM I TRULY THE OWNER OF MY POSSESSIONS?

AM I REALLY THE DOER?

AM I SURE NO 1?

Here, if I probe deep, it is evident that beyond a level, even the System and the related people could not have done the required had the Providence taken a smaller look on all these aspects. Thus the ultimate 'take care' was through the Grace of God alone. Seen in such a context,

I AM NOT AT ALL THE OWNER OF MY POSSESSIONS,

I AM NO WAY, THE DOER, 

I AM NEVER NO 1!"

Right at that moment, the Great Man's words were ringing in his ears..

SURE, MONEY MAKES MANY THINGS!

"We had lavish party the other day!"

The young man said.. 

"Don't throw away monies with negligence.. Every rupee saved counts when tough times strike!"

The wise man said.. 

"I have so much, this is nothing in front of it!"

The young man reiterated..

"That so much becomes nothing if throwing away continues!"

The wise man clarified..

"It's not throwing away.. It's leading life full!"

The young man justified..

That's not leading life full.. It's living beyond means!"

The wise man reaffirmed..

"I stopped wasting and started saving every rupee!"

The young man said..

"Don't hoard monies with greed. Every rupee given in charity counts when tough times strike!"

The wise man said.. 

"It's not hoarding.. It's saving for future!"

The young man justified..

"That saving becomes hoarding if unchecked!"

The wise man clarified..

"Given away monies are gone forever. Less money is ever a pain!"

The young man reiterated..

"The greater pain of tougher times can be alleviated only by what we gave to the deserved all along our life; nothing less!"

The wise man reaffirmed..
