• "Show exemplary skills; address the problem!"

Stressed the 5th person..

• "Stick to living with morals; leave the issue for a while!"

Clarified the 6th one..

• "Start leading life full of ethics; remain contented!"

Cheered up the 7th individual..

• "Problem in front is problem as well no problem; decide yourself whatever but

ACT IN TIME!"

Said the wise person with a smile!

CHALLENGING THE WRONG DOER.. WHAT'S IT LIKE?

"Sir! Many times I become very angry with the wrongs done by the powerful around!"

"Dear! Are you ready to challenge those powerful?"

"No.. I am afraid!"

"Do you want to stop such people from doing the wrong?"

"Yes.. Very much!"

"My advice is don't stop this challenging!"

"How can I do that when I am so much afraid!"

"Dear! This challenging is not one activity but a set of activities

Ranging from

Challenging the person thru' non co-operation

To

Questioning one's own existence..

I'm sure you can do some of in between activities with all ease!"

"Means?"

"It means you will be doing an exercise called 

Self denial 

Thru' activities like,

• Not taking direct/indirect benefits given by the wrong doer as much,
• Not getting into gossiping about the wrong doer as much,
• Myself not talking ill of the wrong doer as much,
• Involving in minimum required constructive criticism of the wrong doer,
• Eating less at times,
• Go on fasting once in a way,
• Myself trying to do right as much,
• Correcting myself where I go wrong sincerely feeling sorry for the wrong done..

Etc..Etc..

Seen thus, the list endless and the limits too..

When I start living with such a discipline,

It's the right way of challenging the wrong doer

At my own feasible level to the best of my abilities simultaneously trying to improve therein constantly!"

SHOULD THE YOUNG LISTEN TO THEIR ELDERS ALL THE TIME?

“I am fed up with the attitude of my grown up family members. See, Sir! We, as elders try to tell them in their own interest but they never listen to the 'good' in that. Instead, they question back, 

‘Why can't we do this way?' 

Tomorrow, if they get into a problem, every one suffers. I feel sad seeing all this happening in front of me!” 

Thus was speaking a man of 50s to an elderly well-wisher. The well-wisher, a man of wisdom comforted him and said, 

“Dear! No doubt, what you say is right and I, 100% agree that the younger family members at times take wrong decisions.. 

It's truly wisdom they listen to their elders and the elders should show their resentment and if required resort to non co-operation to see that the young do not go ahead with such proposals where the danger is imminent.. 

But there's a fine line of division here..”

The well-wisher paused and continued.. 

“The family members under our care have their own freedom of expression. This freedom with them makes them see new things around through their own perception which we, as elders may not be able to see in that direction.. 

Tell me now, are you seeing this quality in them and giving all support to it, both sides never crossing the fine lines of law and basic ethics or just snubbing the younger ones?”

"Do you know, dear? All

In the world are not

Out of the then younger great men and women listening to the stereotyped advices of their elders 

But exclusively 

Doing out of their own intuitions and thrusts within; nothing less!"

THE TIMELY NEEDED SOAP BUBBLE STORY!

The Little boy was ready for his favorite bed time stories..

"Grandpa.. Tell me the story!"

He asked. The grandpa smiled and said,

"Dear! Today, I'll tell you totally a different story. It's the story of soap bubble!"

"Okay.. Tell me!"

"See.. A soap bubble is made of many many tiny ones called soap molecules. One end of the soap molecule likes water and the other end is afraid of water. Isn't it funny?"

"Very funny.. What happened next?"

"The end which likes water is called hydrophilic and the other end which is afraid of water is called hydrophobic..

The hydrophobic end likes oil which is always with dirt particles on our hands and the hydrophilic end freely moves with water molecules..

When the soap molecules are in water, all hydrophobic ends together make a round with oil and dirt in the center and the hydrophilic ends freely remain out..

When we wash our hands by rubbing, the soap bubbles freely go away from our hands along with water taking away the oil and dirt particles in the center and our hands become clean..

As bacteria always remain attached to the dust particles, they also move away from our hands without getting killed..

Don't you like our hands to be clean always?"

"Yes! Grandpa!"

"And whenever we go to rest room, there will be bacteria on our hands and so it's always good after using rest room, we take some soap liquid, rub hands, wash with water and thus come out clean...

Then it's healthy for us and for others too. I know you are doing that daily but now you know how that cleaning takes place. Am I right?"

"Yes.. From tomorrow I fully clean my hands with soap and water when I use rest room!"

"And let us do that before eating our food too. You know..

'CLEANLINESS IS NEXT TO GODLINESS!'

It means.. God always wants us to be

CLEAN FIRST AND THEN PRAY

If all of us follow this and other clean rest room habits, our country too remains clean and healthy..

That is called

SWACHH BHARAT

Don't you want to help our country?"

"Yes.. Grandpa.. I want to help!"

"So today's story of soap bubble.. Is it interesting?"

"Yes.. Very interesting.. I like it.. One end is hydrophobic and the other end is hydrophilic.. hydrophobic.. hydrophilic.. hydrophobic.. hydrophi.. Hydropho.. Hydro......!"

Softly saying thus, the little boy soon fell asleep. The grandpa comforted the boy with soft bed sheet and patting and blessing him, moved on with a satisfaction in him for implanting,

The very much required good habit into his boy's mind at that tender age!

The man was a lost person for a while and soon approached the man of wisdom. The wise man said,

"I have a sure solution for you!"

"Oh! Sir, what's it?"

"It is said,

'If there is no problem with man, man will 100% search and create a problem!'

Seen in such context, true meaning to human life exists, when you

'Take problems wholeheartedly,
Try solving them as much for the day,
Leave the rest for next day and thus
Be at peace!'

You know..

Whenever a visitor visited the Great Saint for a solution to his/her problem, the Great Saint used to

• Welcome the person with a Silent gesture
• Enquire the person Silently through hand signals the pestering problem,
• Continue remaining Silent for a while and beyond
• Enquire Silently with hand signals whether the person feeling better for which the visitor without own knowledge used to nod in affirmation..

Further both used to sit for some more time in Silence and finally

• As the visitor Silently readied to take leave,
• The Great Personality Silently used to wave to the person bye..

The visitor once out, surprisingly used to find within Silence and Calmness!

I may be infinitesimally small in understanding the Great Saint's action here but being a normal human being,

• I told you what I needed to say in the situation and beyond
• I remain silent as the Great Personality Himself showed that Sacred Path for all of us!"

"Grandpa! I secured Scholarship for my studies!"

The grandson from the other part of Globe announced on phone joyously..

"Oh! dear! What are you saying? My.....!"

The grandpa feeling extremely happy was about to congratulate the boy, when the grandson interrupted saying,

"You know..The scholarship supports my studies!"

"Yes, dear, scholarships are very helpful to us. Means you are a brilliant student! My thumbs-up.. No.. No.. My 6 thumbs-up to you!"

"Why 6 thumbs up?  It should be 1!"

"Yes, my boy.. One thumbs-up to you because you did well in your studies!"

"Ok.. The 2nd?"

"The 2nd-thumbs up to you because you made your parents happy!"

Got it.. But why 6?"

"The 3rd is because you made your grand parents happy!"

"Ok.. Why more?"

"The 4th thumbs-up.. You made your teachers happy as they feel now that they taught a gem student!"

"Done.. Then it should be 4.. Not 6!"

"The 5th thumbs-up.. You made your friends and close relations feel proud of you.. Am I right?"

"Yes.. Forgot to tell you.. My friend..... already rang up and congratulated me.. You are right!"

"Yes.. That's where the 5th thumbs up goes to you!"

"Then what for is the 6th one?"

"Can you guess?"

"One sec.. Let me think.. Hum... Not getting.. All known people, you mentioned.. Who else knows me? Tell me, Grandpa.. quickly.. Don't keep me in suspense!"

"One more chance.. Try guessing!"

"No.. I can't.. Tell me!"

"Ok.. Why is the scholarship given to you?"

"To study!"

"Why do we study?"

"To have knowledge!"

"In what way knowledge helps?"

"I don't know!"

"See.. Dear!  Knowledge is Power. Means with knowledge in hand, you can do many things and help people!"

"Yes.. You are right!"

"Thru' that Knowledge of yours, the world is going to be benefitted soon in coming years. For being a party to that

THE BUSY BEE HAS NO TIME TO GRUMBLE!

A man of mid thirties visited a Saint of an Ashram one evening, bowed down and said,

“Reverend Sir! In my day to day life so far, I tried my best to excel but came up average everywhere. I see around many of my contemporaries who were lesser earlier suddenly going up the ladder..

I am here to have Your Blessings to do the best in my life!”

The Master said,

“Wait!”

And sat in silence. The man bowed down, said,

"Sure, Sir!"

And sat silently in front of Him..

The Master continued silence. After a while, the man gently said,

“Sir! You didn't tell me anything!”

The Saint continued His silence. The man started losing his patience. He again said,

“Sir! I'm awaiting your answer!”

The Master still continued His silence. The man lost patience and politely asked,

"Sir! May I know what to do?"

No go.. The Master never spoke. The man firmed up. He needed to go.. So got up, bowed down to Master and said,

"Sir! I take leave from you!"

The Master suddenly said,

“What you decided to do now, do to the issues troubling you presently!"

"Sir! I didn't get it!"

"Leave the issues that can't be resolved beyond and move to the next..

See, how much determined you became even to leave me now, in whom you had so much faith when I stopped responding? So from now onwards,

Leave all murmur,
Evolve yourself,
Stand on your own feet,
See better things in others,
Organize everywhere and
Non-stop go ahead thus like 

The busy bee on it's endless mission

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY.. A SAGA OF 70's!

The son doing his degree and stationed at hostel in the month of June, 1970 wrote a letter to his father detailing his activities in respect of his studies and financial needs..

The father promptly replied to that on 19th June, 1970..

"Dear son,

These are the 5 spelling mistakes and the 3 grammatical mistakes in your letter..

XXXXX

You shouldn't repeat this again..

I tell you.. You should improve your communication skills..

1. Keep good health and nothing less should happen there..

2. Last month's expenses were more. The finances are never in abundance and you should cut own your expenses on unnecessary things and spend the precious monies wisely..

3. Concentrate on studies and avoid distractions..

All can wait presently, not the above 3..

FOREVER THE GIST OF 'BETTER LIVING!'

A boy and his younger brother had a scuffle while playing a game. The younger one said,

• “I won 10 points!” 

The elder said,

• “No, the last score was a draw. You've only 9 points!”

And sure to say, the argument was endless for a while..

Meanwhile their father with his friend came to the spot. The two children instantly referred their dispute to their father. He smiled and said,

• “Dear children! Do you remember what I tell you both daily? Why don't you do that first?” 

The children remembered what the father used to say daily. That’s it, they both left their fight and became one!

Seeing that, the friend asked the father what he was telling them daily.

The father said,

"Dear! There's only one message to them from me in this context at their own understanding level..

• The better off, naturally the elder should always start the interaction with a helpful attitude towards the younger as he himself is privileged in respect of having better capabilities of life.. 

• The younger without a second thought should first pay respects to the elder and begin the interaction as he can become better only by learning from the capable i.e, the elder bother. .

As they thus begin their dialogue, in no time, each sees his mistake and the dispute is gone.. I repeat this daily to them and it had become part of a ritual for them...

But our angers are never less and often cloud our memories. So reminders are needed and when thus reminded, their approach changes instantly and the fights fizzle out.. 

The most important aspect of this 'Great Work Out' is.. 

• I am the one reference to them in their life and they both believe me a 100% there. And take from me, I never intervene and try settling their disputes at any point of time!” 

The Creator from Above smiled,

• “A similar message is there for My children too on the earth and I repeatedly remind that through the preachings of the Learned. 

And when they see my Presence as ‘One’, then alone they can settle their disputes and remain in peace!”

A USUAL ADVICE THAT NEEDS CORRECTION.. ONCE IN A WAY!

“My dear! It's not easy for ordinary people like us to embrace the Path of Renunciation..

The Great Saint too prior to attaining His Sainthood, was advised by His Master to live the life as a king with all the related responsibilities as a prerequisite to that..

Not knowing this, if we straight away divert our time and energies towards philosophical field, we ultimately lose both 

THE HEAVEN AND THE HEAVEN ON EARTH!"

Thus was saying an aged man to a youngster who showed a lot of interest to embrace the Path of Renunciation and was cooling him off.

A man of the same age but of deep intuition and understanding who happened to listen to that talk said to the aged man after the youngster left..

“Dear! I agree that what you've advised the young man is appropriate as such a state of mind in general is an emotional state which sure in time fades off.. 

Here, advising on leading the life with normal responsibilities is sure the best course of action for most of the young men and women.. 

But equally we should not forget one point..

The thrust to embrace Spirituality in the world is ever associated with great vigor, strength and energies and is never the other way. So to say, 

THE YOUTH ALONE ARE EVER FIT FOR THIS TASK..

I may need to correct your story of the Great Saint to have more meaning to what you said..

He, as was advised, lead the life of a King with full responsibilities in one birth but 

WAS READY FOR RENUNCIATION AT THE YOUNG AGE ONLY IN THE NEXT BIRTH..

As told in another story..

When the night watchman on vigil was repeating, 

“Be awake and take care!”

Most of the residents got up from sleep, checked their doors for security and again went to sleep except 

An young man who thought,

“Am I sleeping in my life?”

With the routine saying, straight away opened the door and left home forever to 

MEDITATE AND EVOLVE!

These may be stories next to us with no factual info but the ever fact next to me is..

IN LIFE, DRASTIC CHANGES ARE NOT A MYTH TOO..

So whenever I've to address such instances, let me no doubt start advising everywhere on leading a normal life with the usual responsibilities but if required

LET ME BE READY TO ADVISE IN THAT LINE TOO IF SIGNS OF RENUNCIATION ARE SEEN MORE OFTEN!"

NONE BUT THE MOM ALONE COULD ADDRESS THE PROB 100%!

The boy just crossed 10 but still he was a child only and during that time, he developed an unexplained fear of lightening and thunders followed by striking of occasional thunderbolts which he heard could kill people..

Compounding that fear suddenly, there was a need for his Mother to leave him at home and travel to her native place for a week.. 

When he mentioned his fear meekly..

The eldest brother said,

“Don’t worry! I am there for you!”

The other elder one said,

“I am without that fear. Why don't you try to be like me?”

The dad smilingly said,

"Don't worry, dear! I am there for you and you will be alright!"

But his Mom by his side alone knew all that turmoil in him 100%. One day before her departure, as soon as her son returned from school, she gave him the evening mini meal to his satisfaction, made him relax for few minutes and said,

“Dear! When I am away for a week, daily you will be alone for about 2 hrs in the house in the evenings till your bros return, isn't it?”

The boy instantly responded to her saying, ‘YES’ without his own knowledge..

“I know you are afraid of heavy thunders and lightening. In case a heavy rain comes in that time, you are worried, isn't it?”

She mentioned.. The boy suddenly found a great interest in his Mom’s approach..

“Also, at night when your bros are sleeping, if the same lightening and thunders come up, you are again worried, isn't it?”

She asked..

Yes! she exactly touched his problem.. The boy was totally at ease with the solace he got from the menacing problem troubling him..

“I’ll give you the best solution..

What our Epic Story says is that the Devas’ King Indra, the Lord of Rain God as he travels in the Sky in his Chariot, the constant rubbing with the clouds produces the lightening and thunders. So if you please Devas' King Indra, he definitely takes care of you..

And you know Prince Arjuna is the son of Indra. So praise Prince Arjuna, Indra is pleased with you and instructs the Rain God to go soft without making such a blinding lightening and loud thunders..

I tell you a Sloka, by-heart this one and repeat the same in your mind whenever the thunders and lightening strike!”

The loving Mom instantly made him learn the famous Sloka..

“Arjunah Palghunah Paarthah Kireethih Swethavahanah
Bheebhastuh Vijayah Krishnah Savyasaachih Dhananjayah!”

(A sloka of praising Prince Arjuna bringing out his own Identity and Achievements)

“Now you are safe.. The lightening and thunders can do nothing to you!”

Said the Mom with a smile patting her son..

The boy was totally relieved of the hidden menacing fear with him as he found the right solution to his problem which none else could give him. He instantly felt very strong and highly capable. No doubt to say.. 

• He by-hearted the Sloka in no time, 
• Happily bid bye to his Mom the next day and 
• Was all ready to wage a war if weather showed it’s fury..

A man of no fear was just born in him with a determination to help out the world in general!

My Blog 'Reflecting on Life' is an Insight into the Realities of Life with its various problems around every one in our societies over which sometimes the individuals feel helpless with no control. My stories, descriptions, quotes, humorous instances etc in the Blog bring out the fallacies of life which  many times I value Vs being wise in life which our elders often advocated.. 

Every one who reads my postings would find something applicable to his / her own personal life whether he / she brings out and discusses openly or not. My aim here is to spread this knowledge indirectly through a method which is well acceptable for any one so that he / she would pause, look into it, try understanding the realities and myths of life and instantly laugh over his / her own tensions for the moment. The postings definitely make them feel better and happy..

All postings published are my own experiences and perceptions of life put in different styles to make it acceptable for Readers in their own way..

• “Why not Suresh? It’s a pleasure to help you. Let me read your script. Ok, here are 'aaaaa, bbbbb, ccccc' titles of my choice. Take any one!”

“Can you suggest few more?”

• “OK.. Wait.. 'xxxxx, yyyyy, zzzzz'.. Yes! These are really good. Take one of them!”

“Seems the 2nd one is good. One minute.. I’ve got a list here. Can you look at this once before finalizing?”

• “Naah! This list appears to be prepared by some novice in the field.. Don't go for these!”

“Oh, Is it so? OK, I’ll give you a link.. Can you search and suggest?”

• “Let me see.. (Pause).. Yes, dear! These are the few I could finally select.. They are really good!”

“This one is Ok but not so good. This one.. No.. Not at all! This one.. If I give this title to my script, I'm gone! The 4th one.. Oh.. I can't think of such titles! The 5th one.. Yaar! How can you suggest this?”

• “Sorry.. I don't get you!"

“What dear? I gave you so much info and you are not able to suggest one good title. Is it so difficult? OK.. Leave it.. I'll find out myself. Any way, thanks for spending your time!”

“Hi, Dinesh! Can you suggest me a good title for this script?”

• “Why not Suresh? It’s a pleasure to help you. Let me read your script.. Ok, give me something. I’ll say whether it's good or not!”

“Why don’t you suggest something? I‘ll be happy!”

• “Yeah! I agree.. But selection is your personal choice. Once done, as a good friend I’ll confirm that. Please bring outfew, which you like the most!”

“OK! One minute.. Out of these, 'ppppp, qqqqq, rrrrr', I like….... What do you say?”

• "Yes! The first two are definitely good.. The 3rd one has a small wrong message!”

“Out of the two, which one you suggest?”

• “That’s once again your choice. For me both are good!”

“My vote is for the 1st one!”

• “Excellent.. Well suited.. Go ahead!”

“One minute, am seeing a 4th one here. Isn't it good? For me it appears....”

• “Let me see.. I see a small flaw here, but still it’s up to you to use it!”

“OK.. Let me see.. Wait.. One minute.. No.. The 2nd alone looks to me the best. I’ll go ahead with that title..Beautiful, isn't it?”

• “Yes.. Sure the right choice.. All the best dear!”

SOMETIMES LIFE IS..

He was the boy who had just entered the twin digit age.. 

• Too straightforward,
• inquisitive,
• experimental in nature and
• ever ready to learn the 'Right' alone..

His Mom said,

“Go to the Temple, Pray to God and come back. The Almighty sure takes care of you!”

The boy was too enthusiastic and he believed his mom a total 100% there. Accordingly, he went to the Temple and exactly did what his mom told but for ringing the bell, as he jumped the 3rd time, he was harshly told by the Authorities not to cause nuisance in the premises..

Leaving the young mind totally confused and tensed up for a while where he believed beyond!

He got a lower Grade in one of the subjects of his half yearly exams which earlier he claimed at home having answered the best..

The mom sent his elder brother to the Institute to enquire about the low marks. There, the elder brother quickly found that the scoring appeared right only when the same explained to him by the Authorities with a vengeance and hurt feeling in their minds for pointing out unnecessarily..

The hurt continued, the anger was no less and when the boy not knowing all that was actively playing inside in the compound area, the washed waters of lunch box were thrown on him as if the boy was unnoticed..

Leaving the young mind totally confused and tensed up for a while where he believed beyond!

He was interacting with a man who made friendship with his father expecting a favor from the dad. When the dad did not yield there and followed the right.. 

The man who appeared as dear friend till then turned hostile, showed his wrath and pent up emotions in front of the boy scolding him and his dad beyond..

Leaving the young mind totally confused and tensed up for a while where he believed beyond!

The boy was traveling with parents and on the way they had to wait for the next transport at a central area around 8 PM. Meanwhile the boy had to attend to the nature’s call. He told his mom and walked a little away towards the bushes on the side.. 

When he reached there, a tall hefty man guarding the area held the boy, made him walk some distance away from the place to a corner when the boy's heart beat had gone beyond with tears rolling down,.....

• The examinations basically test the competitive edge of the learners. It's good to be smart in life for a better future and let the tests tell you where you stand. Remember.. 

The taste of pudding is in eating!

• All examinations finally lead to award of the related Degree/Certificate towards the end. Try maximum to do the best here and soon become the owner of that degree. Remember..

Do you think that today parents are taking more care of their kids & also giving everything in a less time. Is it destroying their curiosity and eagerness of life ? #parentscuriosityeagern

A certain discipline with the parent/s till the children grow up to the full fledged individuals in their life if goes broadly on the following lines, helps the children a lot in their life. As told within the self, that internal discipline of a parent goes thus..

• "My Dear Children, daily I'll see that you are made ready to go to school in time by giving you all the support required. After school hrs, I've fixed your required daily play time and study time.. 

You'll play with your friends in that time, come back and sit for studies after eating your favorite evening healthy snack!

• The studies go for the prescribed hrs which are easily possible for you and during that time, I too sit by your side with my regular work required to be done for the day..

If I finish earlier to you, I'll still sit by your side doing nothing as you are studying!

• When we all finish by the time set, it's our entertainment time, followed by dinner and later bed time.. 

In this time, I'm going to be always with you, I never get away from you unless some family/office works come up in the way!

• Our week goes thus. On Holidays and Sundays, we'll have studies for minimum hrs in the morning slot and I will again be with you during this time. After that the whole day is yours. We go round to see the places where you like to go and have fun or visit few close families well known to us, of course.. 

All within our financial limits and to the places where children generally go!

• Thus goes our week and the next week follows. And later months follow and in between it would be exam time. We continue the same discipline then too and thus you write all your exams.. 

In between the above all activities, you are equally free to relax the way you want too but it would sure be limited and we would quickly be back to our works!

• Then follow the results and summer vacation. I promise it will be a new place then where you'll like to go and spend your vacation or spend time with friends and relatives. Regarding the results..

You will hear that but I don't bother about it except join with you there!

• The report cards do come every quarter and after the final exam. Just tell me..

Where to sign as the parent, I simply do that and I promise I don't ask any questions further as you have done your job the whole year with all sincerity.

• Thus together we move through this wonderful childhood time of yours, I too would become a child here when I'm with you except that I know more than you and can guide and monitor your work where required. Otherwise, we just move together and do all the remaining works. Here..

I promise I never get away from you at any time on my own except for health and family needs and work requirements. And, you too will have your immediate exceptions due to exigencies, health problems including your own boredom a few times but within the limits!

• My sincere feeling is that this works the best here and in this process we all forever are together living under one principle..

The elder always helps the younger and the younger ever respects the elder!

• I'm just a friend and a care-taker alone here all along and I promise that other than love no authority would flow from me at any point of time as that's ever a duty with me in this context. And this alone is going to be the way I'll bring you up whatever be the situation around.. 

Further to the same, I sincerely believe that what comes up to us, I would like to take it as the Gift of God to me and I advise you too to do the same and be at peace forever!"

THE ABCs.. OF BRINGING UP CHILDREN!

Looking back at 60+, I was ever interested / prepared myself in instilling 3 Basic Values in the minds of my children as I brought them up in my life invariably making them equip themselves with the fundamentals of leading this life happily having a true meaning to it and thus remain fit..

The A,B,C,D,E,Fs of these 3 Basic Values go thus..

• Brighten up the prospects of having the best future thru' dedicated learning and the related training but along with that Express too what you are within to have a meaning to your immediate life!

Here brightening up the child's future prospects thru' good learning/training and subsequent employment in his/her adult life is a must else the basic existence itself is indirectly threatened and I had necessarily taught this Value No 1 to my children from the right age without an exception..

In the process, the children might not find time to express themselves which was their basic gist of this very living and thus I equally made my children do that without losing sight of the higher meaning to their lives..

• Face the inevitable competition with no second thought but along with that Accept too what comes thru' wholeheartedly!

Here, facing competition next to me is inevitable in this life as the concept of 'Survival of the fittest!' ever rules our lives and thus I necessarily imbibed this Value No 2 too in the mind of my children if not directly indirectly from the appropriate age..

In the process, the child should never be put to undue mental stress and thus it was my duty there to continuously make the issue in front look lighter there by tuning my children's minds ultimately ready to accept what comes thru' heroically and thus remain stable!

• Care for and share with others without an exception but along with that Discipline yourself in respect of time, money and energy!

Here, caring/sharing is no doubt the divine expression and one should necessarily get into this habit from childhood. Thus imbibing this Value No 3 in my children again was my responsibility and I never side lined this at any point of time as they should grow ultimately into total personalities in their lives..

In the process, disciplining oneself in respect of his/her time, money and energies is a must and thus it became my duty there to tune up my children's minds to the ever limited availability of these resources and the necessity of doing all that within those limits!

THE DIAMOND SHINES SURE WHEN POLISHED! #BLOGCHATTERBLOGHOP

The Little One of 5 yrs+ was too fussy and was pestering the family members with endless questions thru' his constant observation around. That was the age and at that point of time his learning could never be stopped. The time was 0930 PM..

"Time to sleep, dear!"

The grandma said.

"No.. I traveled and I've a time difference of four and half hrs. I'll not sleep up to 2!"

Said the Little One firmly.

"That's only on the first day of your coming. Not daily!"

"No.. It's every day till I go back!"

"Alright.. Day after tomorrow is Ganesha Festival. We have to get up early.. Tomorrow we will buy Ganesha idol!"

The next day evening, the family moved to the nearby Market to buy their Favorite idol.

There were many idols of different sizes and colors. The boy quickly picked up the plain one saying,

"Grandpa says we should be eco-friendly. No color means that!"

The idol was brought home and next day the dedicated Puja was done in the house with the boy participating in each and every activity involved therein.

The same evening was the immersion time.

A bucketful of water was brought, a simple Puja was conducted and the idol was about to be immersed in the waters when the boy squarely stopped the members from doing that saying,

"I want my Ganesha!"

The family members coaxed him a lot but the boy never allowed to do that.

Day 1 passed thus and day 2 too passed peacefully as immersions were done on the odd days and day 3 arrived. But the boy was double firm on not immersing on the 3rd day too.

It was day 5 and the boy's stand was firm. The grandpa soon stepped-in and decided to teach the child something timely. He cajoled the boy saying,

• "Dear! Why did you buy the eco-friendly Ganesha?"

"To help our garden plants!"

• "Shall we help them again?"

"Yes.. I want to do that!"

• "See.. Now a days no rains are coming. There is no water for our garden plants.. Can we give them some water?"

"Yes! Let's do that immediately!"

• "And we give them some food too?"

"Yes..Yes!"

• "The soil is their food.. If you immerse Lord Ganesha in water, the idol will melt and becomes their food mixed with water. And there are no colors in it!"

"Yes.. We should do that immediately!"

• "So.. Tomorrow morning we'll have water mixed with soil. We give that to plants! That helps our plants grow and we'll have everywhere green.. Don't you want that?"

"Yes.. I want all my plants grow.. We'll do that!"

• "Now we'll put Lord Ganesha in water and you close your eyes and pray to Him that all plants with us grow big by next year!"

The Little One instantly closed his eyes in front of the immersed Ganesha and prayed aloud what his grandpa had said. The grandpa was happy that he could instill certain right thoughts in the mind of the child on the eve of the closure of Ganesha Festival!
