'BORN FREE!'.. WHAT'S IT LIKE?

In the beginning, 

The better off man by birth decided to live sharing shelter with the less better off man by birth next to him by making use of the available facilities around equally..

“I'm an expert here and I will be doing main jobs to keep the whole area in trim condition for both of us. You relax and just help me where required. Anyway, I would be asking you that help once in a way!"

Said the better one with a broad smile..

“In such a situation over a period of time, I’ll just become nothing and will be a lost person for life time..

I don't want to do that when we have no such prior obligation and remain equal!”

Said the less better one firmly..

“Okay.. since I'm an expert, let me maintain the whole area in trim condition for both of us and you help me all along picking up your own experience in the area whatever!"

Suggested the better one in a softer tone..

“In such a situation over a period of time, I’ll just remain a working person for you taking orders from you.. 

I don't want to do that when we have no such prior obligation and remain equal!”

Asserted the less better one equally..

“OK, since I've the expertise, I’ll help out in all the works that need my expertise and you can take up the remaining works. In that way we'll almost make our struggle equal and my expertise too will be well utilized. What do you say?”

Asked the better one sheepishly..

“In such a situation over a period of time, what all you worked through will come out the best and mine will not. In the end, it appears that you struggled a lot and I did much less.. 

I don't want to do that when we have no such prior obligation and remain equal!”

Replied the less better one with no mood to accept..

"Right.. Since it is a fact that we have different expertises and you only say that mine is better than yours, I'll compensate you suitably and there you too will gain not less. Hope this arrangement has no problem!"

Said the better one in a bit authoritative tone..

"In such a situation,  it makes a big difference between us over long period of time and that way I can never become equal to you.. 

I don't want to do that when we have no such prior obligation and remain equal!”

Said the less better one again firmly..

"Ok.. The final offer.. We'll demarcate our portions and each one of us work in our own areas keeping them in trim condition. Common problems, we'll address on sharing basis on alternate days. Am sure, you agree here!"

Said the better one in a little bit angry tone..

"I sure accept the suggestion provided we erect a temporary demarcating wall to a level where in we'll have a certain privacy in our own areas where each one of us does in our own way out of our freedom and thus lives thru' with full dignity. Beyond this min segregation.. 

In rest of the issues we are one and thus truly live like good friends forever caring for each other!”

Clarified the less better one with a broad smile..

Right at that moment, the concept of 

True Economic Living 

Took it's birth to do it's own wonders to the world at large and today we have 

Countries, 

States, 

Districts, 

Local Bodies, 

Organizational Groups, 

Societies and 

Families 

Upholding the concept at their own Levels celebrating their own that 

INDEPENDENCE WITH JOY AND VIGOR!

THE REALISTIC WAY OF LIVING!

* Lord Krishna was about to take the 2nd fistful of beaten rice brought by His childhood friend but

Lady Srimathi Rukmini stopped Him saying that the Lord could never compensate His friend for the 2nd gulp as He already owed him a lot for the 1st one.. 

That was the worth the Lord was ready to give to honor His dear friend!

* The Great Man decided to transfer his houses permanently in the names of his tenants saying,

"Here a natural right is automatically accrued to them thru' living in those houses and the ownership right is lost for me for not living there!"

That was the worth the Great Man was ready to forego for the benefit of others!

* When the proud king offered massive wealth to the Famous Poet cum Devotee of Lord Vishnu if He dedicated His poetry to the king, the Great Personality refused it saying,

"Having know the Ultimate, how can I stop dedicating my poetry unto the Lord?"

That was the worth the Famous Devotee was ready to decline to uphold the Truth!

These are no doubt, the great stories of ours which forever stress the importance of

Giving away the rightly earned,
Not claiming the rightly bestowed on and
Foregoing the rightly accrued..

It may so happen that some times, I too feel that I should do something in this direction but the self in me never allows that beyond saying,

"Why do you do to the unconnected people? If you do that, what will happen to you and your own people? Who will really take care of you in times of crisis? See.. Equally what the Great Personalities alone had said and done..

** When a man asked the Great Man of the Ashram to give him some food as he was hungry, the Great Personality said,

"Do this equivalent work, I'll give you food!"

When the man retorted saying that how a man collapsing with hunger could do any work, the Great Man said,

"In that case, I'll give you food. Eat, relax for a while but finish my work and go!"

When the man refused to do that accusing the Noble Personality as cruel, the Great Man said,

"You can go now. You will not get food here!"

There by,

Not giving away the rightly earned..

** "I'll help my son first and later the other man as I have more duty towards my son than towards the other man!"

Affirmed the Great Man when was asked whom he would help first a stranger or his son when both were in exact need at the same time..

There by,

Claiming the rightly bestowed on..

And Lord Krishna thru' Verse 42 & 43 Chapter III of Srimad Bhagavad Gita equally said..

'O Arjuna by the sword of transcendental knowledge, destroy the doubts of self born of ignorance and taking the shelter of uniting individual consciousness with the ultimate consciousness, arise for the battle!'"

There by,

Not foregoing the rightly accrued..

So be realistic in your life.. Remember..

When the stomach growls, all philosophy ends!"

Yes, understood.. The distinction between 'Mine' and 'Not Mine' is a fact with me here

• I may never be able to do beyond a limit and if forcibly attempted,
• I may do a little more than my usual limit and
• I would straight away be afraid to look further up..

That being the case, the ever golden mean path for me in this life is..

'Let me care for myself and remain stable first but beyond

Let me not be too much self oriented,
Let me control my 'self' at an appropriate point and
Let me be useful to my 'Next Man!'

"The beautiful mind pours out those thoughts non stop like a running stream!"

The mind and the right hand of the man were claiming 100% of that praise and applause with humility seen no where as the 5 fingers of the hand remained silent spectators to all that happening with certain murmurs within which soon became loud and assertive..

"We together helped this man all along

• Make him pickup his materials from the shelves,
• Arrange his write-ups in order,
• Scroll thru' those his writings constantly,
• Search his specific writings and
• Move all those his write-ups safely to shelves..

Beyond our friend, the Index Finger constantly helped the man guiding his Assistants doing their jobs properly 

And

Our Master Thumb relentlessly showed 'thumbs-up' whenever this man got his appreciation..

With so much effort put up from our end only, this man could achieve all this today. Unfortunately, today we are totally kept off from picture. So sad! 

No more keeping quiet.. Let's show our resistance!"

And as anyone firms up thus, it sure happens and here too..

The next day morning routinely, as the man got up, refreshed and straight got into his job,

• The mind readied to pour out the best of it's content extempore

And

• The right hand readied itself to pen down the stream of those highly valued words

But 

The fingers of the right hand together stopped holding as well as supporting the pen

Making

LOST TO WILDERNESS ETERNALLY!

'I should never say 'NO' but ever try passing part of the benefit received at the end of every success to those who contributed for that indirectly and silently remained off the stage as without their unfailing support therein, I couldn't have achieved that!'

THE LITTLE ONE'S WORRY INSTANTLY REDEFINED MY MORNING PRAYER!

"You see dear there..

That bright red setting sun in distance..

Wait a minute.. Now you see here..

I captured Him in my camera..

He has gone there and has come to my camera..

How He looks?"

Asked the man proudly showing his picture shot to the little boy..

"Oh! Then from tomorrow morning

We'll be having no Sun..

And it'll be dark all over..

I don't like that!"

Said the worried boy!

The boy's worry expressed in such a meaningful way instantly prompted me to redefine

The Daily Morning Prayer of my life

Thus..

“God!

You do the Eternal Job of heating my surroundings enough for the day bringing back from the earlier day’s cooling in which I took so much relaxation..

The eco-balance is perfectly maintained with guaranteed timely rains and availability of plant food are thru' the right evaporations that take place thru’ this heating..

The so called man made night life with so many lights and sounds around is possible only because of the basic energies that You generously passed on..

The fuels one burns in moving around freely are again part of these energies that have come from You alone..

And you, daily without resting for a second having completed your job on one half globe, go to the other half to continue doing Your Job allowing me freely reap the benefits of your energies passed in the day..

I hereby bow down and offer my Salutations to You!"

That evening as the 2 friends were on stroll in the park, suddenly a celestial figure appeared in front of them and said,

"I'll grant you both a boon wherein you can

• Rewind into your life to a stage you wish,
• Relive from then on well attentive,
• Commit not those mistakes which you committed earlier in that period and thus
• Come back to today's life

Minus the effect of those mistakes..

It's you choice now!"

The 1st friend said,

"Life is short and I'm suffering presently with lows because I committed some mistakes earlier. Let me minus those from my life and thus have

THE BEST OF TODAY

With this boon!"

The 2nd friend said,

"No doubt, life is short and I'm suffering presently with lows because I committed some mistakes earlier. But still, let me not minus those from my life and thus have

THE USUAL OF TODAY

Without this boon!"

Soon the 2 friends started their life with and without the boon..

Time passed..

Strangely,

The 1st friend was unhappy in his life with continued misery

And

The 2nd one was happy in his life with continued peace..

To a query for the strange happening, there was a clarification from above..

"You may be interested not to commit a mistake in your life as then you will have a better life but seen the other way here,

Pride has gone up steadily in the 1st friend with nothing minus seen with him subsequently and he soon secluded himself with the rest of mankind as he felt

HE WAS A SPECIAL MAN

Whereas,

Humility has become the way of life with the 2nd friend at the back of the usual minus brought to his notice by others and there he joined with the mankind as he felt

HE WAS A NORMAL MAN..

No need to say..

The pride with the 1st friend brought its own

MISERY

To him making him indirectly feel that life is worthless

Where as

The humility with the 2nd one brought its own

PEACE

To him making him directly feel that life is worth living!"

It was the distant video call from the grand parents. The Little Boy of 6+ in no time took the call..

"Hello, Dear.. What are doing?"

Asked the grandma..

"I'm busy.. Making Google Maps!"

Replied the boy without lifting his head..

"Oh! Making google maps? Good..  Ready to take quiz?"

"Ask!"

"Which is the hottest planet in the Solar System?"

"Venus, the 2nd nearest to Sun! Do you know.. What is beyond Visible Spectrum? They are called.. Ultra Violet and Infra Red rays!"

"Oh.. You know all that.. Okay.. What's 7+8 minus 3+9?"

"3!"

"No it's 21.. See 7+8-3+9=21!"

"You asked 7+8 minus 3+9. That's different..

 Okay..What's 14/15?"

"It's .9333 up to infinity!"

"God.. You know so much? Now.. Name 3 places in Africa!"

"1...., 2...., 3....!"

"No, They are 1...., 2...., 3....!  Check your book!"

"Why should I tell only those in the book? These are the other cities in Africa.. Ok.. Now I'll ask.. Take out 4786 from 9572!"

"Dear! All civil aircrafts fly with 2 Pilots on board..
The Main Pilot and the Co-Pilot!"

"One aircraft had 3 Pilots!"

"Oh! you mean the Flight Engineer! Yes.. On flights...."

"I know that.. But here, it was one more Pilot apart from the Flight Engineer!"

"How is it possible?"

"What if, if one of the passengers is a Pilot?"

The grandpa mused..

"Yes.. Dear! With a genuine

From Skies..

"As you point others with your finger, therein, I created the 

Silent Embedded in Message 

With your other 3 fingers pointing you saying,

'Better check.. You may be doing similar triple to that!'

As you never stopped that pointing, I tried making you get My Message

'STOP POINTING OTHERS.. CORRECT YOURSELF!'

Thru' your repeated talk itself..

Presently, everything is coming in your way because you are totally in

THE WRONG LANE

Leading a life of no Ethics. Come to

THE RIGHT LANE

With the right discipline and remain humble as much, 

THE PEACE IS WITH YOU INTACT!"

A COMEDY OF MISUNDERSTANDINGS!

With the roaring sounds of huge Jet Engines followed by shaking under the take off speed, as the Aircraft beautifully smoothed into skies with few sideward movements and started steadily gaining height with the experienced travelers coolly sitting in their seats enjoying the smooth lift up..

The first time traveller with a predisposed fear and lack of knowledge of flying, instantly thought that the Aircraft got into air passing through a difficult time!

In a short time as the huge Flying Bird reached max height and leveled off further cruising continuing with certain announcements made followed by few refreshments served a midst the cheerful faces of the Passengers,

The tensed up man thanked God for making the Aircraft come back to normal!

En route, as the Aircraft passed through certain turbulent zone with instant seat belt sign ‘ON’ at the back of a PAS announcement and beyond as the severity of jolts increased with the Cabin Crew instructed stop serving temporarily and go back to their seats as a normal procedure followed in such instances,

The man's predisposed mental state about the safety, made him think that the Aircraft again got into a bad situation and was struggling to come out!

The turbulent zone having crossed, as the Aircraft again began cruising smoothly with the seat belt signs going off and the Cabin Crew resuming their Service,

The already disturbed man firmly believed that the aircraft stabilized the 2nd time and offered a silent prayer to his deity for the take care!

With the Level Flight continued for 2 hrs finally, as landing was announced at the back of landing preparations started 

And as the Aircraft smoothly descended to the designated lower height and was making circles over the destination city with many twinkling lights seen all over the area and white smoke coming up from a corner..

The tensed up man was totally at his wit's end not knowing what was happening to the aircraft!

Finally, as the Cabin Crew were asked go to their seats with the cabin lights switched off for the planned landing simultaneously the Gear put down and locked and beyond as the Aircraft made a turn for final decent with the usual noise and vibration of the process..

The highly tensed up man by then thought that there was a serious problem with the Aircraft, could no more control his anxiety in himself and with a shaking voice asked the Passenger next to him near the window,

“Sir! Are we 'IN' for trouble?”

The Co-passenger who happily slept off all along, got up, refreshed, looked out and instantly recognized the city below. Seeing the thick smoke emanating from a corner, he suddenly recollected the morning news read in the news papers of certain looting and arson that took place in the strife-torn City of his journey, looked at the man and said with a little worried tone,

“Yes Sir, it appears all is not alright at this point of time. It is better we be prepared for any eventuality. Really a bad time for us to travel. I feel we should quickly get off from here at the earliest!”

I was instantly taken a back, regained my senses and modified my thinking,

'Okay.. Let me some how finish my work and relax!'

Those finally encouraged me soon get into my active work.. Right at that moment, the Highest Message was in front of me..

make inventions and improvements 

which would benefit the world..

My story on friendship on the eve of 

THE FRIENDSHIP DAY

Goes thus..

### A man used to assert..

"Friends no doubt are required in our life but there's no guarantee that they continue to be with us in a distressful situation..

Many times, it would be a lip sympathy, a few times some running round, half-hearted attempts and few murmurs with a feeling of drudgery work thrust upon them and sure in all such cases, some escape would be sought at the earliest..

Instead monies would straightaway do a better job and any help will be at door step as the Proverb affirms

MONEY MAKES MANY THINGS!”

Another used to say..

“My friends are always with me, they will be with me and sure come to my help in a crisis situation..

No doubt I may be able to buy ‘help’, but such a ‘help’ forever is half-hearted only and would never substitute for the right required..

If I do not keep any friendship, there is definitely a day called ‘Not My Day’ and unless the extra hands are by the side, how else can I come out of such instances?That way seen good friends are real assets and it is rightly said thru' the Proverb..

A MAN IS KNOWN BY THE COMPANY HE KEEPS!”

The third one used to affirm..

"Living with friends, keeping good friendships, helping them out in their need and thus live in the society is one of the duties with me and any calculation here is forever a sin..

The friends are not there with me exclusively to come to rescue in times of crisis and here let me straightaway equip myself for any exigencies in the best possible way..

The ideal way here is to save enough monies for predicted exigencies and be prepared even though every exigency cannot be covered this way and may not be required too as truly speaking what happens the next moment is never known. So, in respect of good friendship, let me stick to the Proverb..

FRIENDSHIP IS LOVE WITH UNDERSTANDING!”

At one point of time, when certain mishaps came up in their lives..

As the 1st one relied more on money with the true friends given less importance, no doubt the hired Help had done the job but half-hearted and thus even though good finances were available, the spirit of service was missing..

Least prepared the 2nd one totally left it to his friends, expected them to support and they in turn had to run for everything with great strain at the back trying to do their best with the man's imperfect planning..

The 3rd man alone could manage the crisis in front in the best possible way as the dedicated friends were with him at the back of full co-operation and warmth along with enough finances and finally all had taken the situation with true humility in their hearts..
