PRIDE with me
Predominantly
Rules me
Indirectly making me
Defame
Everyone around
Whereas
HUMILITY next to me,
Honoring all round with
Uttermost
Mannerisms,
Initiates me feel
Light everywhere
Igniting within me
Timeless
Yearning to do right!
My oft repeated story of Pride and Humility:
Pride lured me,
I yielded, moved onto the top of mountain..
Humility next to me became helpless..
"Throw that one out; you are the Hero!"
Pride said aloud..
Laughing treble aloud, I threw humility down the mountain..
"I am always at your service. Don't forget!"
Humility said before leaving me..
Life moved on leaps and bounds..
My pride made me play endless vicious games for a while but
Soon on a doom's day threw me down from the same mountain mercilessly..
I thought, I am gone once for all but
Humility staying at the bottom of the mountain made me land softly on a cushion and subsequently consoled me saying,
"Knowing this inevitable happening well in advance, I took all the care needed for you. You are safe!"
"Pride goes before fall; humility is a virtue. Leave pride and embrace humility, you sure rise as human being in life!"
The person of wisdom was heard advising from distance!

ReplyDeleteSure, I agree that it's tough to remain humble in life, Tomichan Matheikal for people like me but constant trial in that direction ever gives me a better personality no doubt. That's the only job I can do in this life in this direction and let me do that with all sincerity.. Right comment on the message of the Post. Wishes!
DeleteMy mom always said that there is humility in nature, a fruit laden tree bows down. I think humility and empathy are very underrated qualities in people these days.

DeleteHumility is becoming a rare quality. While there should be a bit of pride in everyone. Pride without humility is just ego. Great post, Sreedhar.
