God (For Believers)

Self (For Non Believers),

A GREATER HELP

Is perceived 

But

That perception in no time gets veiled by the human being's unending interest for

Power, Money and Social Status..

For one,

Whose mind dwells lightly on these, 

Soon

The impossible appears

Not so much impossible,

With a little more steadfastness

Looks like a certain percentage possible,

Continued beyond

Starts becoming more percentage possible,

And further firmness in that direction

May or may not make it all possible

But a

NEW ENERGY

Comes within with a firm decision,

'I'll

Do my job,

Face the situation

And

Take what comes up!'

HEARTFELT ADVICE.. WHAT'S IT LIKE?

In early 20s..

"My parents are my sole advisers everywhere!"

In late 20s..

"No doubt, my parents continue to be my sole advisers for me. Along with them my close uncle too guides me now and then!"

In mid 30s..

"Of late, along with my parents, my that close uncle and few friends, my partner advises me on related issues!" 

In mid 40s..

"Presently, I take advice from my parents, family members and core friends and work out feasible solutions everywhere!"

In early 50s..

"These days, I take advice from my parents on important issues and make it suit to the situation thru' the advices of my family members. Friends too, I consult now and then!"

In late 50s..

"Now a days, I'm an adviser everywhere. So many issues to address..  No problem.. Plenty of advices around.. Only few worth taking!"

In mid 60s..

"Presently, I advise my children and their families on all health and money matters and am a reference in my neighborhood for advice on certain important matters!"

In mid 70s..

"Yes.. I advise my children and their families mainly on core matters and equally take their advice on and off on few issues which need current knowledge as that is Greek and Latin for me at this point of time!"

My true Upliftment....

A young man had a great doubt. He met a Saint in an Ashram and straight away asked Him a question. “Reverend Sir! The philosophy of life preaches one to be unique in thought, speech and action. I am daily doing that way whatever may be the consequences. But, I am constantly facing criticism from every corner in this regard. Kindly tell me am I wrong in doing this way? What else I have to do?”

The Saint smiled and said, “My dear! The discipline of uniqueness in thought-speech-action is the ideal. But for people like us who are in the process of evolving at various levels, the discipline to follow is different. In fact, sometimes it is exactly opposite; in the sense we allow the differences to study them as we surely differ in these. And the task in front of us is….The moment we are aware of this, try to reduce these differences in a natural way. This exercise alone is in front of every one of us and the true upliftment in our lives is through minimizing these differences as much as possible. That itself is the truthful life for us. We really have to do nothing else further in this direction!’

The young man at this point of time had understood the meaning of true upliftment in life!

Life Experience speaks....No doubt in that!

“Everywhere there is a restriction. I want to do something but I am not allowed. Many times I had to bend down or yield. How much of this is correct? Instead, why don’t they let me do and face it myself? There is no need to tell many times that there is danger. What happens in the worst case? I only will suffer….I am fed up with all these sermons, guidelines, constant vigil and criticism….I am sad!” thus was speaking a young man to an elderly well-wisher one evening on the various controls imposed by his elders around….The young man felt that the well-wisher at least would understand him and agree to what he had said....
The elderly looked at him and said, “My dear! I know what you are speaking and with what you are not happy! I ask you a simple question here….Why don’t you straight away say what you want to say or do what you want to do? No one is threatening you to attack you except that you may be criticised. So, why are you afraid so much?”

“Sir, how can I do that? Then I will be branded soon as an adamant and hard nut to crack. Further, all may withdraw their support to me. Even my friends too may be kept off or they themselves may go away. I cannot have such a life….”

“That means you want to do what you like and at the same time all should be with you, co-operate with you, help you in your routine and finally appreciate you too. You want everything from others but you don’t want to listen to and do what they propose for you. Is it justified?"

“--------”

“See, there is no answer from you!” concluded the well-wisher…. "You should understand that in normal cases, what generally people expect you to do is good for you except a few which may not stand in today’s times! Here, the foremost discipline in you should be first to receive all these advices as they are! If you do that, half of your burden really goes off as the elderly are instantly happy with your behavior. Further to this, ponder over these and see by yourself if there is any good for you in that. Having done this, gently modify each advice if required to suit to your situation and conditions. Now the last step…. Where you find the advice is irrelevant, do not act but keep it in a corner of your mind and try to investigate why the elderly have told that. In time, you may find the hidden benefit in some of them. This total discipline should help you in the present circumstances!”

While departing the elderly quipped, “Remember….Whatever advice these grey haired personalities give you, can never be given by one unless his / her hair truly becomes grey!”

A practice required in my life….

In a certain small village, there lived a distinct gentleman….

In all problems of the individuals of the village, when some used to extend just the lip sympathy saying, ‘I am sorry. I am unable to help here. See, it is not my problem!’ and thus keep off, this gentleman firmly used to say, ‘It is a problem and painful situation. Let me help the affected!’ and immediately get into whatever relief works possible at his level ….

Thus life was going on.

Suddenly there was a catastrophe in the village and almost all the people of the village were affected this way or that way….People who supported earlier the thinking Viz., ‘It is not my problem’ when his/her next man was in trouble had a trauma and painful recovery.

The gentleman who supported all the while the concept Viz., ‘It is a problem and painful situation’, continued saying the same and got into action. With all calmness, first he attended to his problem, brought that to a stage where good recovery was in sight, immediately started helping out the people around who were equally affected and truly worked out a plan for them towards recovery….

People around him got astonished and asked, “How is that you are not disturbed much during this crisis and helped yourself as well as others?”

The gentleman smiled and replied, ‘My dear! I always believed in the precept that a problem in front needs to be addressed; that’s all! I could never distinguish it as ‘mine’ and ‘not mine.’ Thus, when the catastrophe had struck me and others around equally, there was only one thought in me…. ‘First help yourself for self recovery and when once you can stand to the situation, help the next man!’ As I continuously believed in this philosophy, in time it worked to the perfection!”

Individual, Family and Society....Truly Elder....

The ten signs of a true elderly person are

When all additional presentations of one’s personality in outside world to appear younger than his/her age are totally left out....

When one is fully aware that every where there can be a problem, but is always ready with a reasonable solution....

When one limits his activities in the world to the true level his/her body and mind do permit....

When one limits his/her activities in respect of family interactions with a feeling that enough interactions for life were already done....

When bringing up a grandchild is seen as the true responsibility of his/her child and never his/her own whatever the situation may be....

When one understands that part of one’s wealth can be used for justified cause in the world as per his/her wish and rest only for oneself and his/her progeny....

When one is fully aware that till last minute it is better one does his/her work feasible by himself/herself only....

When one realizes that it is better consumption in the world is minimized everywhere in respect of himself/herself....

When one understands that living the present life is good enough and all is well done so far and no regrets....

When one ultimately lessens his partiality whatever and sees that everyone around has his/her right to live in a decent way….

Were my the then loud outbursts..

On another

'3 DAY VISIT',

I travelled in Western Direction..

"Gosh! So many bushy green trees and the stream of waters flowing in between with the back ground majestic hills spread over touching the skies..

TRULY THE WONDERFUL PLACE ON EARTH!"

Were my the then soft comments..

On the next

'3 DAY VISIT',

I travelled in Northern Direction..

"Wow! So many bushy green trees and the stream of waters flowing in between with the backdrop of fast vanishing clouds..

TRULY THE MARVELOUS PLACE ON EARTH!"

Were my the then unique thoughts..

On the subsequent

'3 DAY VISIT',

I travelLed in Southern Direction..

"God! Those green fields spread over the huge area the sun light falling at an angle with the back ground of the majestic hills touching the skies..I never thought..

TRULY THE UNIQUE PLACE ON EARTH!"

Were my the then enchanting feelings..

On the next

'3 DAY OFF',

No specific place to go in the early morning, as I opened my window casually, instantly

A gust of cool wind started touching me all over with spells of rain, the rain droplets dripping from green leaves with clouds passing over at backdrop of the colorful rainbow in distance so soothing to the eyes with the beauty of nature making the open area of my living place so special and awesome,

Myself for a while,

LOST TO THE ENCHANTING BEAUTY!

N FOR THE STRANGE 'NO 1' PERSONALITIES OF LIFE!

No doubt he was the

No 1 Genius

Of the town and

He wanted his son too to be

No 1 of That

But the son in no time turned out to be a misfit amidst similar Genius personalities..

The

No 1 Genius

Soon went out of ethics,

Used his clout to forcibly turn a simpleton into a genius and

Thus remained for a while a clown amidst the genius personalities..

But life can never continue thus as

A clown too has own personality of original expression

And that personality sure prompts one to be something in life..

The misfit soon started excelling in his own area

Not talked of much and never carried a big weight on his head and

As more energies had gone in that direction forcibly living amidst genius members,

The earlier normal clown soon became

NO 1 Clown

There..

And one day some one remarked,

"NO 1 Blockhead 

Is born to

NO 1 Genius..

Sure the effect of the dad's past deeds!"

With every one talking on that very quickly as the dad was too famous..

But the Almighty's Scales ever balance and there the

No 1 Genius

And

No 1 Simpleton

Too could never cross the effect of their live deeds in life with the

No 1 Dull Head Son

Not a bit hurt with the talk all along remaining

No 1 Serene and Calm Personality

But the

No 1 Intelligent Dad's

Heart broke into pieces with sharp words thrown at him indirectly and soon he became totally

No 1 Lost Person

With his intact

No 1 Name and Fame

Ultimately turning against him only!

RIGHT FAITH.. WHAT'S IT LIKE?

'ZERO' AND 'INFINITY'

Are ever away from my 

'RATIONAL FINITE'

Mind with

'INFINITE'

'Meaning

ENDLESS'

And

'ZERO'

Meaning 

'NOTHING'..

To reach those

'ENTIRE'

As well as

'NOTHING',

I need to take

'INFINTE DEFINITE'

Steps closer wherein my 

'RATIONALITY'

Can't do that and there my 

'FAITH'

Alone can talk about it..

Thus to say, 

'FAITH'

Is next to me

When I believe strongly in something 

And again

'FAITH'

Is next to me 

when I do not believe therein

As my non believing a particular phenomenon is indirectly my 

'FAITH'

Alone, therein!

A Great Saint used to give a number of Discourses on Godhood, Faith and Ethics of life and the Saint was truly a Great Personality of the Era in the eyes of many.. 

One of His disciples used to

Attend regularly the Master's Discourses and Prayers,

Work in the Ashram in his allotted time and

Do equally a social service.. 

In his personal life too, he adapted the concept of simple living and high thinking!

But all the time the disciple had one doubt in him which he could never get rid of. He tried his best but the doubt had never vanished from his mind. In fact it used to be a little vicious at times and wild thinking used to be the outcome of that.. 

One of the days, there was a Discourse by the Saint, 

A poor lady who had no money but great faith in her Master was finding difficult to cross a river daily in a boat with her meager resources to visit Him on the other bank. One day she listened to the Great man saying how Lord Krishna’s father crossed the river with his full faith established in God. Inspired by that, she decided to cross the river herself with faith in God and the next day she did it! 

“That way 

'DEEP FAITH'

Works in us!” 

Saying thus, the Master concluded his speech.. 

The disciple could no longer hold himself.. That day itself he met the Master, paid his salutations and said, 

“Reverend Sir, please forgive me for harboring the evil thoughts in me. I am unable to believe what all you say and doubt never leaves me in respect of 

Everything you preach, 

What you do and 

Your own living style.. 

I am totally lost!”

The Saint looked straight into his eyes and said, 

“My dear! Your mind doesn't allow belief without solid proof, a great quality I am seeing in you.. 

Please go ahead with your enquiry and questioning thus for ever and never get into a belief and become static! 

Whatever be our perceptions of life, we both have to continue that enquiry together Viz.,

'QUESTIONING EVERYTHING ENDLESS!'

And thus, let the enquiry spirit burn in us forever.. That way, you are truly established in

'RIGHT FAITH'

Required in life which is entirely free from

'BLIND BELIEF!'”

My Blog 'Reflecting on Life' is an insight into the realities of life with its various problems around every one in our societies over which sometimes the individuals feel no control and thus remain helpless.. 

My stories, descriptions, quotes, humorous instances etc in the Blog bring out the fallacies of life we many times value Vs being wise in life which our elders often advocated.. 

Every one who reads my postings would find something applicable to his / her own personal problems and issues of life whether he / she brings out and discusses openly or not..

'THE SACRED BELIEF' THAT NEVER LETS ONE DOWN!!

"Sir, Can you explain the difference in the oft heard sayings..

I DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD..

And

I DO BELIEVE IN GOD?"

"Dear! The 2 statements just remain materialistic statements only generated purely in my mind out of my experiences of life till date as the words therein belong to a language invented by man to convey one's thoughts to the outside world..

• One, out of my belief in my own tradition and in what I heard/read

And

• The other, out of my 'NO' such belief..

Here, one's dedicated investigation and scientific temper alone beyond these sayings strength the sayings that enquiry continuing without a break for the ultimate good of oneself in particular and that of the people in general..

• The disciple having noticed his Master moving suspiciously towards bushes but soon found him answering the Nature's Call, could no more keep quite and asked his Master to punish him for doubting him.. The Master smiled and said,

"Never leave that doubt in you and do not spare even me in that. Then alone you will truly progress in the Path of Spirituality!"

As a child, when Sri Adi Sankara was wandering on the banks of Narmada, He came across the Seer Govinda Bhagavadpada who asked Him,

"Who are You?"

Sri Shankara instantly answered him thru' nine Slokas subsequently called Nirvana Shatakam (Atma Shatakam) and the first Sloka of that Shatakam goes thus..

'Mano Budhyahankaara Chitani Naaham,
Na Cha Shrotrajihve Na Cha Ghraananetre
Na Cha Vyoma Bhumir Na Tejo Na Vayuh,
Chidaanandarupah Shivoham Shivoham.'

'I am not mind, nor intellect, nor ego, nor the five senses, nor the reflections of inner self
I am beyond all that. Again
I am not the ether, nor the earth, nor the fire, nor the wind as
I am indeed that Eternal Knowing and Bliss, the Auspicious (Shivam), Love and Pure Consciousness!'

That sure remains my Prayer of the Day to the Almighty for my uplift as I being the man of ignorance infinitely far away from Truth, constantly identify myself with my body and my mind that can be subjected to

• Pain whatever protection I may build around me, which soon escalates into certain
• Fear that magnifies itself manyfold and creates an unknown
• Panic in me in no time.. 

Seen thus, it's ever my duty that I take care of this materialistic body and mind from end to end without an exception..

• The Great Man too when confronted with rowdy elements, hid himself in the Police Control Room and subsequently on the advice of the Chief of there escaped in disguise in front of the protesters..

Of course, the matter truly does not end there for me and at times such panic situation creates an unknown

LOST FEELING

In me catapulting to me a state of an almost

ZERO PERSONALITY..

Here alone, ever remembering the Great Saint's assertion Viz.,

"You move one step towards God (At the back of such clarity), God moves ten steps towards you!"

I should truly offer a

PRAYER TO LORD SHIVA

By chanting

MAHA MRITYUNJAYA MANTRA..

'Om Trayambakam Yajamahe
Sugandhim Pushti Vardhanam
Urvarukamiva Bandhanath
Mrytor Mukshiya Mamrutat.'

'We worship the three eyed one lord shiva who is of spiritual essence and nourishes all beings. May he severe our bondage of samsara and thus liberate us!'

Which instantly translates the difficulty into a bearable situation of

NO LOST HOPE

With certain instant

PEACE AND HARMONY

Restored!

WATER.. WATER.. WATER.. PLENTY OR SHORTAGE?

• "The precious garden plants need better watering. The heat is more and if we don't water them regularly, I doubt their proper growth. Water all the plants in the front and back yards till the land becomes wet with moisture. In my bungalow

Water is plenty and never in shortage!"

• The family will be sitting in the front open space in the evenings for relaxation and to have some cool air. Sometimes the neighbors drop in. The weather is very hot. Spray lots of water the front area to make it sufficiently wet. That'll sure cool the area towards evening. In my bungalow

Water is plenty and never in shortage!"

• The fountain in front is not working properly. I called the repair person and he may be at anytime here before noon. Be ready and help him out in his job. I want a min height of... ft of the rising waters in front of the house and nothing less. The beauty of rising water jets is the unique specialty of my bungalow. You should guide the repair man and do the required. In my bungalow

Water is plenty and never in shortage!"

• The bath tub is to be filled full with water. Yesterday you missed doing it and left early. When you come for work, you should come prepared to stay full time, isn't it? Today at least, please see that the tub is filled full and kept ready for my bath.. In my bungalow

Water is plenty and never in shortage!"

• The back yard and garage need some floor cleaning. I want you to finish that too today itself with the floor cleaners and water.. In my bungalow

Water is plenty and never in shortage!"

"No problem, Sir! I'll finish all these works. Today, I need to go early for 2 hrs. And tomorrow I need to take half day leave!"

"What, dear? Yesterday suddenly you went early without informing in advance. Today and tomorrow you will be off part of the day. If you go away like this daily, how these works will be finished? What's the urgency?"

• "Sir! In my present rented house, since a fortnight the water supply is affected. All these days, we had to buy water from out side for our essentials. Yesterday, we saw a different house in a new area readily available for rent without this problem and decided to move there. 

• Today evening, we are going there to check once again the position of water supply in that area and move to the area tomorrow. No problem, we'll finish our entire shifting by half day easily. You may know, for people like us,

Water is never plenty and ever in shortage!"

The importance of Responsibilities in life....

“Master! What exactly is a responsibility attached to an individual in his / her life as he / she starts living in this world out of his / her own freedom?”

“Dear! A responsibility attached to an individual comes into effect as he / she starts living his / her life expecting a benefit from the world either of physical or psychological in nature….. That is why the Great Saints were never attached with the worldly responsibilities as these Great Men were ever dis-interested anything that was worldly! 

But we, as normal individuals existing at various levels of evolution towards the Ultimate, definitely do have with us the well defined responsibilities to be discharged in the world as we are interested in the world and expect certain returns from the world….That way alone all our responsibilities are defined in our life….

These responsibilities with an individual can broadly be categorized as THREE TYPES…..

1. Law bound responsibilities
2. Social or Moral responsibilities and 
3. Ethical responsibilities 

Law bound responsibilities are a must to be discharged in life as per the Law of the Land. Social or Moral responsibilities are better be discharged in the interest of greater peace around but taking care that the law is respected all the while. Ethical responsibilities are the ones the individual takes upon himself / herself on his / her own and discharges them in the interest of the community around so that he / she is freed in this life from the burden of own attachments to a greater extent…

So the ultimate guidelines in respect of discharging these responsibilities are….

A must in respect of the First
Desirable in respect of the Second without sacrificing the First and
Good to do in respect of the third provided the individual does not copy here someone / something but does out of his / her own depth of perception of Truth!

Everything rots in time!

A King was interested to see that all his plans were implemented in the best possible way for the benefit of people.

He thought, “I understand that the best actions any where come through dedicated inspection and timely rectifications. Intentional neglect and non implementation may escape one watchful eye but not the second one so easily! So, I’ll keep repeated checks at various points of all Plan implementations so that a minimum ten Officials on duty will inspect, assess the required parameters and suggest immediate corrective actions if deviations however minor or at whatever corner are seen existing….Having backed by such a rigid procedure and all inspections being recorded properly with the signatures and stamps of the inspectors on all relevant papers, no deviation in plan implementation can go unnoticed easily and that way alone ultimately I can ensure the best for people within the allowed deficiencies!”

Without further discussing the proposal with his Minister, the King straight away had gone ahead and implemented the schemes, identified well trained men to inspect all procedures followed, suggest corrective actions and record all….Further, he decided to inspect all records himself at the final stage for any lapse on the behalf of inspectors….


Days passed…The King’s Plans were through instantly and it was really a joyous situation! He was proud that he could thus control all the Programs effectively.... Further, days passed….

In time any thing rusts….And this was no exception! The King found that slowly the quality of life of people was back to the earlier times except for a few improvements here and there….He was totally astonished and was really clueless not knowing how it could have happened…..

Finally, he was forced to discuss the whole matter with the Minister. The wise Minister quickly made certain enquiries, came back to the King and said, “Your Highness! No doubt the idea is great had it been implemented in true spirit. That way no deviation would have been there….But time always brings in ways to get out of these imposed procedures as lethargy, greed and authority in an individual encourage that. Thus any System soon rots!”

He paused and continued, “Sir! After a while of introduction of this strict discipline, certain procedure had set in the System, where the papers would simply be prepared and signed in a routine way as you as an Authority are seeing only the papers….There is such a nexus among the Authorities that some of the signatures which have become too many are being simply written by hand by an expert there in these matters and the entire procedure is being cut short. Unfortunately, Your Majesty had not thought of this happening…. Ultimately, here the paper work alone is perfect but the rest is same!”

Time and Tide wait for None!

Once a man got into a problem; not a small one but really a serious problem! Sometimes, it happens in life and it takes a lot of time to recover….A number of friends and well-wishers of him enquired on phone immediately and consoled him. A few visited him at his place and stayed there for a day….

A close friend of him who came to know of this a bit late as he was away at that point of time, dashed to his place the moment he came back and heard of the difficulty. The man met him at the entrance, greeted and offered him to sit in his living room. They both were silent for a while. Subsequently, the man himself started enquiring a few welfare issues of his friend and was simultaneously concentrating on a few important works of his. He thus appeared not much worried about the difficulty he faced and was not looking as if he faced such a serious problem! The friend got astonished at this because he thought that the man would have broken down at that point of time. After a while he could no more hold those feelings in himself and straight away asked the man how he was keeping so cool having faced such a difficult situation….

The man smiled and said, “Dear! I know that the problem I got into is really a serious one and it is a big pain in life. But there is a much bigger problem ready to strike me at this point of time. And if I don’t take care of it now, soon I have to face that and its magnitude is going to be many times the magnitude of the present one!”

The friend was dumb stuck not knowing exactly what a bigger problem could be there for him other than what he was having….

The man continued, “If I stop doing my normal activities destined to be done at this point of time without a deficiency and sit worrying, the effects of ‘non doing’ of the same in the right way and in the right time soon accumulate and become mountainous issues....And to tell you frankly, how can I face those problems later? So, there is no time in front of me sitting and crying over spilt milk as time and tide wait for none and life goes on whether we like it or not....The best way in this situation is to get up in the earliest time, refresh and start doing the necessary activities to save from these impending perils of future and thus make way for true peace in coming up life. Here, there is no other choice in front of any one if seen in true perspective!”

It is always a duty to be prepared for a tougher situation in life!

“I don’t want to take too many challenges in life. What is the use? It is always a tension by the side. There won’t be peace of mind so easily. Even at work ultimately the earnings do not match with the effort that goes into meeting these challenges. Further, there is a sizable risk too. See! All these entities with us today do not come with us one day. Even I earn millions, I have to leave them all and go…. You may say that I leave them to the next kith and kin. Even they do not need that much. Then what is the use of this extra effort? Be doing normal activities everywhere including at work, be off quickly from these and relax! Life is meant to live tension free. So challenges to the extent forced only have to be taken up, not beyond!” Thus used to say a man of mid thirties firmly on how one should plan and live his life….

An elderly well-wisher who noticed this man for a long time decided that he should to talk to him a bit on the subject. Accordingly, he raised the topic when he happened to visit him one evening. The man was quick in responding to the same and repeated all his ideas with a firm tone….

The elderly looked at him and said, “My dear! There are always two types of works in front of us in life; Essential works and Pleasant works…. Our safety always lies in doing the Essential works. It does not matter whether I do here Pleasant works or not. But the time required for Essential works can never be eaten away by Pleasurable works….

What’s happening in your life is…. If I am permitted to say…. The Pleasant works are eating into the time of Essential works and thus you have become lethargic! It is a very dangerous trend in life! Taking up reasonable challenges at all levels and continuously living through these challenges and the associated risks in life is a duty with us and in your case, you have simply closed this almost except allowing it to operate at low level and occupied with pleasantries all other times. Here you are bypassing the Order in Nature and the coming up results in the form of difficulties soon will encompass in numbers!”

The elderly as he was leaving just smiled at the man and said, “A body and mind which never faced challenges and hectic running in life are never tuned in to take up the physical and mental strain one faces when difficulties strike in! I may be up now in having a peaceful life in front but every up has a down followed sooner or later. Am I really prepared to face that down at this point of time?”

Am I taking care of my Work?

“Sir!  Why is work so important in life and what exactly is the right work for me?”

“My dear! The day necessarily begins with me when I start looking out for some  'Item' or 'Service' around which I cannot generate from scratch....  But this 'Item' or 'Service' may be provided by someone else ready made.   Naturally he / she expects something in return and will never give free.   Equally, most of the times I will not have an exact skill to produce and return what this supplier wants. Thus, I have to go through a continuous exchange process and see that ultimately my supplier gets what he / she wants. Then alone I do have a right to take my required 'Item' or 'Service' from him / her. Seen this way, it is clear that I can stop the whole working process only when I need absolutely nothing in my life which can never be a case with me as long as I exist on the earth!    Thus work becomes a very important aspect of life next to basic living....

The right work for me is nothing but the work I can do making use of the skill I learnt and practiced from my younger days....the skill which was passed on or learnt as hierarchy of my family most of the times. This skill too, once got into learning cannot be changed much later except fine tuning the same and expanding into related fields….

When I was young when the process of learning these skills was actively going on, my parents alone have worked at that time on my behalf....And it is my duty to take over this task from my parents at the earliest and start working myself as they can never do this for me for whole of my life!  If I neglect or postpone this take over, my competitor the next door will permanently take over the 'Vacancy of Exchange' available at my door step without a second thought and later however well my work be done, it may have no demand!!!

Any consumption without timely return of acceptable equivalent worth is a  sin in life as it has no support on earth through known Universal law!" 

A Discipline that paves way to Happiness in life….

My personal care/needs take distinct time, energy and money and in addition, some have to be done at a specified clock time/calendar date without fail. Any deviation here is forever a debt which necessarily has to be  repaid with very high interest subsequently…. 

Further, the postponement cannot be done beyond a time limit as it results in break down of my System from which recovery is a costly and time consuming phenomenon. And, some times, I may have to settle for a lesser level permanently….

Since my Employment necessarily takes its own time and I can never say ‘NO’ to it, the only way of performing the best in this scenario is to become totally time conscious….Of course, time is money and so it is the energy too…..

With this background, if I observe my schedules carefully, I surely find that my available time is spent in enjoying the life as relaxations are sought by me continuously….

This is a strong force in me driving me incessantly in the direction of enjoyment but no despair….There is a bridle available…. My alertness to happenings…. With this bridle in hand, I can keep the enjoyment tendency in limits and catch hold of the precious time and energy continuously getting out of my hands….

And if I really do this, soon all types of enjoyments, let loose conditions and unbridled tendencies would be checked and regulated but I should still allow them at a level as they form the gist of my present life and may be the aim of my life is partly to satisfy these….

So, there is a catch and too much harshness in this direction works ultimately against me only....myself totally left out with a miserable state of mind and the resulting indiscipline beyond limits….

Now I know where I stand exactly....

The First Preference in the Eyes of God....

A benevolent king was all the time helpful to his people in their crises. He used to help them beyond and give the best support in times of their need. He advised all his Officials to be ever ready for this type of support to be provided for people from his Office.

A common man in the kingdom was equally doing a similar job.   He was helpful to the core to people in the neighborhood out of whatever resources he had.  Most of the time, he did not have much to give except extending a physical help with a sincere Prayer to the Almighty at his heart for their betterment!

Their lives went on thus….Finally days were numbered for both of them….

At the Heavenly Abode, the gates were open first to the gentleman. The benevolent king was asked to wait….He got astonished with this but sincerely sought the reason for that preference….

Thus came the reply in no time…. “All the while, you just distributed what excess was with you which, most of the times was never from your own effort.  Further, you were always proud of your charity and thus never thought of Presence of the Divine Hand at the back of all these!

And this gentleman had done exactly the opposite…. He could only give his physical help most of the times as he had not many resources with him.  But there he was sincere and further always believed that the Almighty alone helps ultimately which is a fact….

And….Those who depend on themselves the maximum and believe in God alone will have a first preference here!!!”
