PATIENCE!

I lost my cool and was about to give back, the wise person in distance said softly,
  • "Patience is virtue!"
I fumed and fumed non stop, the wise person reminded me saying,
  • "A watched pot never boils!"
I tried controlling myself, the wise person consoled me saying,
  • "Patience is the plaster of all sores!"
I became helpless for a while, the wise person continued saying,
  • "All things are difficult before they become easy!"
I allowed time to go, the wise person was heard saying,
  • "Good things come to those who wait!"
My coolness slowly returned, the wise person cheered me saying,
  • "April showers bring May flowers!"
More time passed, the wise person said,
  • "Patience can cook a stone." (African Proverb)
I became cool, the wise person continued talking on patience bringing out various proverbs and quotes..
  • "Patience is not simply the ability to wait. It's how we behave while we are waiting. (Joyce Mayer)
  • The two most powerful warriors are patience and time. (Leo Tolstoy)
  • Patience is bitter but it's fruit is sweet. (Aristotle)
  • He that can have patience, can have what he will. (Benjamin Franklin)
  • Patience is a companion of wisdom. (Saint Augustine)
  • To lose patience is to lose battle. (M. K. Gandhi)

I remained totally calm, the wise person pointed to me the distant loud speaker from where Verse 14, Chapter II of Srimad Bhagavad Gita was heard with the Narrator explaining the meaning in parallel..

'matra-sparshas tu kaunteya sitosna-sukha-duhkha-dah
agamapayino’nityas tams titiksasva bharata'

'The mere contact of senses as is, O Son of Kunti, cause heat and cold, pleasure and pain. They come and go and they are impermanent. Endure them bravely, O descendant of Bharata!'
