HAPPY DIWALI.. A STORY OF THE PAST!

It was early morning hrs.The friend knocked on the door..

"Are you ready with bags? Min 5 are required!"

He asked..

"No problem.. I'm ready!"

I replied. Soon we moved out with our conversations..

• "I don't know when the situation improves!"
• "Can't say.. All because of wrong thinking, wrong ideas and greed with those in power..
• You know, yesterday in that man's.... house, the thieves, emptied boxes of currency and took away empty boxes!"
• "You are right.. 2 days back, my that friend had kept salary in his car and was away for a minute leaving the car keys. Some body emptied car fuel leaving all those bundle of notes intact!"
• "You know, our friend.. He saw a movie yesterday by giving a piece of char coal!"
• "And the tourist to our place found no change available for his basic foreign currency note! Okay.. Whatever, let's have our favorite coffee while returning.. Shouldn't miss!"
• "No, better we finish it now.. The price will sure go up by the time we return!"
• "Yes.. You are right.. The other day, one of our persons had a quarrel. While entering the restaurant he noted the prices. By the time he finished, the bill came up higher! As he was arguing, some one said,

'It's waste of time, the prices still go up.. Pay quickly and go!'"

• "They are stealing, lead and brass everywhere!"
• "Yes.. You know, few beautiful kites were sold in the market made with paper currency!"
• "I am really a lost person.. When will this end!"
• "God, knows.. Pathetic situation.. Let's quickly collect our salaries and straight head to bread store!"
• "Yes.. We should check for long expiry varieties.. Don't know what will be available next month!"
• "Yeah! In many places, barter exchanges have come up.. They are not taking cash!"

The dreaded dream was too much and I suddenly woke up sweating profusely with my heart beating very fast.The time was 6 AM with morning twilight seen in the horizon thru’ the window followed by twittering noises of early morning birds..

As I slowly turned on bed, I saw the book next to me and instantly recollected reading about

Hyperinflation of the times of history

And falling asleep without my knowledge..

Yes.. Let it be 'n' no of

• Lockdowns,
• Curfews,
• Strict restrictions on movements,
• Bad weather conditions,
• Mild ill healths,
• Continued family issues,

• The more related constraints
