BEING PHILOSOPHICAL.. WHAT'S IT ULTIMATELY?

'Work hard; Get handsome returns,
Care for family; See them grow,
Express yourself; Live life to brim!'
  • "Working hard and earning handsome monies should be on top priority. Family care automatically follows that.. Beyond.. Expressing myself? I don't know what that is!"
Were the oft spoken words from a man of mid 40s..
  • “Caring for family and seeing them grow should be on top priority followed by working hard and earning monies. Family needs personal attention and one can do a lot there. And expressing myself? It's nothing but this alone in life!”
Were the assertions from another man of similar age..
  • “Life is full of surprises and expressing max exploring everywhere is a must with us. After taking care of my work and family well, let me spend my time in this direction as much!”
Were the words of a 3rd man of contemporary age..
  • “We have to take full care of whatever we have been asked to do. Beyond.. I am the ‘Higher Self’ and I have to work towards Elevating myself to that level through certain Spiritual Practices like..
Reading books on Spirituality,
Attending Discourses where possible,
Sitting in Meditation daily some time and
Imposing Controls in enjoyments
  • Let me never miss this highest activity in my life!”
Was the firm belief of the 4th man..

Time never waits and aging never stops. All have become old and all adjusted to the ups and downs of their life but all were happy at their own level having felt satisfied that they lived the active days of their life well and achieved what they wanted. But never the last man..

Who became totally depressed as he felt at that point of time that he wasted major part of his energies doing something and reached ultimately nowhere!

Confirming the Truth that Being Philosophical in life for an ordinary man is nothing but doing the jobs one is destined to do in this life as our core responsibilities well, the Great Saint said,

A cobbler sitting at the busy cross roads and doing his work totally engrossed (Expressing himself) making the optimum earnings for the day for himself and his family is a better Philosopher in life than the man who sits and meditates endlessly closing his eyes!"

Again, Sloka 3 Chapter 4 of Srimad Bhagavad Gita says..

'Sa evayam maya te dya yogah proktah puratanah
Bhakto si me sakha ceti rahasyam hy etad uttamam'

'This very ancient science of uniting the individual consciousness with the ultimate consciousness (The Philosophy of Life) which is the supreme secret is being described by me unto you (alone) today because you are My devotee and friend (who is truly Eligible to live that life).'

  5. When you care for family, you put yourself aside as far as possible and shoulder responsibility. However, Life is also about going with the flow. There is no one path. Each person has to find their way and learn from their experiences.

    1. You are very much right on this point.... Even what I set as my path today necessarily has to undergo changes continuously as I grow in life at the back of new experiences and revelations coming up to me.... No go here! Thanks for the good Comment....

    1. Yes, MeenalSonal, An ordinary human being necessarily has to live thru' work and family life himself/herself exploring and expressing the way he/she wishes, if any left out.. The discharge of those responsibilities alone makes the individual rise in his/her liferest ways, never.. Even Sri Adi Sankara was advised by His Master to lead the life of a king with full family responsibilities before embracing Spirituality in full.. Thanks for a good comment on the Post bringing out the valuable point.. Wishes!

    1. A valuable query on the Post, Tomichan Matheikal.. My explanation here goes thus..

Philosophy and Spirituality are just man made words, the dictionary meanings of those 2 words become immaterial when one is Elevating himself/herself in that line.. That Elevation process with an ordinary person is time bound rising to infinite time limit in which period his/her ignorance falls off in stages thru’ a disciplined living where in the concept

‘I care of myself and in the process I never look at my next man different from me!’

When this Psychology predominates in an individual sure, he/she had overcome certain ignorance in him/her giving place to higher Truth.

The pace of this Rising is a gift in Nature varying from very fast rate to a standstill point of no further rise unless that stage of ignorance crosses in him/her..

The Ancient Philosophy says that there 8 such knots of ignorance with individuals and when one crosses all the 8, then only Realization dawns..

When one deals with this topic, all these discussions should remain low and one should feel how best he/she spends the moment in front of him/her. That is sure the Philosophical attitude 100%..

That attitude invariably falls off from me, who is the ordinary individual with past and future getting into my thoughts..

Here alone, the Great Men and Women of the world ever advised the normal man to leave all that and just do the jobs assigned to the best of his/her abilities and remain at peace..

May be my explanation is not that much right but that’s just what I perceive this moment on the subject!

Thanks for the chance given to me to explain this..

      Wishes!
