An elderly gentleman thought,
“I am retired from my Service does not mean taking rest all the day without doing anything.. That way seen by God's Grace, my energies are quite intact and health is no issue..
As I see, my children are too busy with their own Schedules and are finding no breathing time for certain of their pending personal activities.. After I put my grand son into the school bus, I have practically no great work for the day till the boy returns in the evening except for the routine.. Let me move out in this time, try finish some of my children's pending works and thus do some justice in the present scenario!”
Having decided thus he chalked out an ambitious plan of action for the next day.. And accordingly in the morning after his grand son had left for school, he too moved out of the house on the planned errands for the day..
- He decided to take the starting bus to his destination, but as he could not walk fast to reach the Bus Stop in time, his estimation failed and he squarely missed that bus..
- So he decided to board the through buses coming up but quickly found too difficult to do so as either the buses were full with passengers or were not stopping properly at the Stop..
- He was thus helpless for a while when a special bus came and stopped in front of him.. It was not crowded and the man quickly got in and sat in his seat.. As the bus moved on, he found to his dismay that he got into a wrong bus when it took a turn into the next lane.. The kind conductor helped him get down the bus and he had to walk back to his Stop..
- By that time, he felt a little tired but determined himself to go ahead.. To his luck, the next bus was empty and he happily got in and sat in a seat relaxing himself for a while.. He just travelled thus and reached one of the Places he wanted to finish the first work for the day.. As he got into that activity, suddenly he found that he forgot to carry with him the file he kept ready on the table..
- Thus, that work could not be done and he moved towards the next work but to his surprise he found a long queue there..
- Unable to stand there he moved towards the 3rd work walking some distance and on the way it started drizzling and there he neither could run nor walk fast to save himself from becoming wet.. Having thus become quite wet in that rain, at one point he decided not to go ahead further but to return home..
- To his luck, he could easily get a bus to his home as at that time the traveling public were less but unfortunately while getting down, there was some haste and in the process he slipped and sprained his leg.. Unable to do anything further, he slowly walked back home with the muscle catch..
As soon as he entered the house, his Little Grand Son opened the door and said with full excitement,
“Grand Pa! I'm back.. I was searching for you all the time.. Where did you go? Right now, let's go to the Play Ground.. I want to climb on the New Climbing Net.. Are you ready? Come.. Let's go immediately!”
The tired gentleman was soon at the Play Ground with his Grand Child.. And the boy in no time started bravely climbing the newly installed Outdoor Net Climber screaming and shouting all along making his already tired Grand Pa further run after him and the gentleman had no go there but to follow him as the child was climbing the net..
As he was in that work, it suddenly struck the gentleman..
"Here my strength, memory and energies exactly match with those of this Little One alone and with none else around me in my life at this point of time.. Thus seen truly, here alone lies my work now to play with this boy and take care of him when his parents are away on their active work.. And he too equally needs me, loves me doing all this for him and again this work is nevertheless small but truly the right work for my age at the back of the valuable maturity in my life..
When I thus start doing this single work to perfection, there can be no regrets at any point of time in my life that I'm missing / have missed other great works all along!”

Nice message sir. Happiness does not always lie in big achievements but also in doing small things to perfection.
ReplyDeleteVery Right Perception, Somali.. As the Great Philosopher said 'One should be equally be happy at the time of leaving the world that he / she had done the right things in the world and nothing less!' Your Point exactly speaks this.. Thanks for the same!

ReplyDeleteYou said it very much right Sini Rachel! And its never a less job here and a grand Parent's support becomes invaluable where it is truly needed.. The child's emotional growth then truly becomes complete.. Thanks for your valuable comment!
