You are asked to suggest a book that everyone must read. Which book would you suggest? Why? #MustReadBook
And the Prompt says.. 'Suggest!'
Yes.. Suggestion can always be given because it is just suggestion; not a compulsion..
But to suggest, I need to justify and that justification of mine based on my thoughts hovering over certain aspects of life may not be the same with others as each individual is charged with an unknown zeal to investigate and find that in his/her own innovative way..
As such even suggesting a book for others of
- Different Beliefs,
- Different Faiths,
- Different Aspirations,
- Different Interests and
- Different Opinions
May seem not right and thus I can just say in this context that
One Sacred Book that truly helped me till date and am sure will help me in the coming days too is
SRIMAD BHAGAVAD GITA
And that Book is my choice of reading not once but daily and feel
THE TRANSFORMATION OF THOUGHT PROCESS
That comes up in me with each reading bringing a
NEW MEANING TO MY LIFE..
One of the Slokas of Gita Dhyanam goes thus..
'Mookam karothi vaachaalam, pankhum lankayathe girim
Yath krupa thamaham vandhe paramananda madhavam!'
Meaning..
'I salute that Madhava of divine joy, whose graceful mercy just,
Makes the dumb, the master of words and the lame, to cross the mountains!'
That's truly the Greatness of Srimad Bhagavad Gita and nothing less of it at any point of time!
Gita has its own Power on the Readers when It's just read for reading sake, when gone thru' the Book for understanding in depth or when It's explained to some one in a discourse. Any activity of this type has its own unique influence on the individuals around..
The Verses of Gita forever convey the Original Truths of life and they never let down the Reader of whatever level be as there's sure a certain Message in each Verse which is straight conveyed deep into the personality of the Reader at his/her own level based on which the individual can mold his/her life further which again brings in a certain sure peace to him/her..
In essence Srimad Bhagavad Gita conveys the general message to everyone thus..
- 'Every individual, forever has a role to play in his/her life and that role is oneself continuously doing certain ordained duties of his/hers as the life moves on..
- That playing of the right role may not make one happy every moment but ever sure keeps the ultimate happiness and peace with him/her..
- Since the person, many times is more worried about the immediate happiness rather than the long one in store, he/she is likely to deviate from his/her ordained Role and get into a life of ease continuously..
- In such a situation, when one reads the Chapter I here, where Prince Arjuna got into a similar dilemma of either to wage the war of Righteousness or not, one sure understands that he/she should wake up from the similar sluggishness in him/her of not displeasing any one and taking cool his/her life but quickly get into the right rigorous actions in front..
- Once done, repeated reading of the subsequent Chapters here clarify the various doubts in the reader and make his/her faith firm in the right action in a similar way
- Prince Arjuna got thru' the process of clarification and with more clarity coming up to, totally surrendered to the Lord, with renewed energy geared up himself and truly responded to the
EVER LIVE MESSAGE TO THE MUNDANE WORLD..
'Wake up, Fight and End the evil in front at your own level!'
And a collective doing of all that from various quarters around us finally leads to the Ultimate Aim in our lives Viz.,
The Post is BlogChatter too to CauseAChatter..
The nishkama karma of the Gita is particularly insightful.
ReplyDeleteVery Rightly said.. Doing the duty with as little attachment as possible is the only right way in front of me for the ultimate Peace in me and in the surroundings.. Rest activities are all lesser alone except doing where self protection again becomes a duty with me at my own level of understanding.. Thanks for a good Comment on these pages!
