THE PLEASANT SONG OF MY LIFE!

I pack up and ready to move out of my work place at the close of shift, the Boss appears on the scene and tells me,

'FINISH THIS AND GO!'

It's exactly the state of my existence on earth when
  • I wish to do what I like,
  • My mind has stopped working,
  • My body is tired beyond,
  • My family is waiting for me and needs my attention,
  • My personal works are in a mess,
  • Planning a Holiday seems impossible,
  • I feel sorry to hear those words having done the best for the day and
  • I don't know how I can say 'NO' to my Boss..
A SAD SONG OFTEN SUNG ONLY WITHIN ME!

Let me tune up this song a bit by listening to what the Great Personalities have said in respect of extremes of living the life on earth..

** When the King said,
“You gave a father the greatest pain of seeing his son as Saint seeking alms in front of his own Palace!”,
The Lord replied,
“I never gave this pain to you. You believed that being a King and Owner this wealth is the highest in life. Much Higher is the Sainthood owning nothing!”

And

** When a man
asked the Great Man of the Ashram to give him some food as he was hungry, the Great Personality said,
"Do this equivalent work, I'll give you food. Or, I'll give you food. Eat, relax for a while but finish my work and go!"
When the man refused to do that accusing the Noble Personality as cruel, the Great Man said,
"You can go now. You will not get food here!"

And here, as I am neither a Saint nor my hunger is no less, it's better the earliest,

I TUNE MY THAT SAD SONG STUDDED WITH THE FACTS..
  • Hunger sure drives me mad and there sweat alone is the sweetest recipe!
  • I may be on frying pan at work but if remain careless, sure fall into fire of jobless environment!
  • I may be tired beyond at work but survival forces in no time take out all that tiresomeness!
  • Family no doubt is important but ever the fort round the family is built thru work alone, nothing else.. With active work if I am away from my family for days and days, I remain the most familiar person of my family members; Without that work, if I sit in front of them even for few days, I straight away become a stranger!
  • Personal works are called personal works as long as I hold a firm job; else the personality itself zeroes down, forget about anything called personal!
  • Holidays multiply if am taken out of active work stream and become life long, if taken out of basic work itself!
  • At work, hearing the words.. 'Finish this and go!' should be soothing to my ears else I would be forced to hear the harshest words of the world when I am out of work..
  • Saying 'NO' to Boss is difficult for me no doubt but saying 'NO!' to me is never difficult for Boss!
And turn it into

THE PLEASANT SONG OF MY LIFE!

  1. We work to spend a quality time with our family at the expense of family time. This is the greatest irony. But I could understand the situation very well.

    1. Very much with you Ravish on this point but still that quality time is truly a quality time with us when backed by an applause at work alone else never so.. Thanks for a good observation in this context!

  2. Takeaway from this post - be honest to your work and be disciplined. We need these two things for inner peace. A very calming read, sir.

    1. Rightly said Purba.. Devoid of these 2 qualities at work, we are almost nothing in life.. Thanks for the nice comment!

  4. I can relate more to this post. Most of the times I face such situations and at that time I fumble to say 'no'. Honestly, this job is making me discipline and I'm quite satisfied with that.

    Great Post... :)

    1. Nice to see such a comment from you, Arpita.. Our work is indirectly our God.. Taking care of it at the root level, takes out many evils that are ready to attack me in my life and stream lines life for me and basically for my family and to a larger extent others around me too.. Thanks for such a good comment!

  6. This post is easy to understand and relate to as most of us go through this stuff in our respective lives in more or less the same way.
