TYPICAL GARDENING PRACTICE FOR GROWING VEGETABLES!

The Great Man used to spend daily some time in farming in His Ashram area growing edible essentials saying that as He essentially consumed daily some of those items, it would be a duty with Him to partly grow them by Himself!

That clearly conveys a Great Message to every one that growing few vegetable plants in their backyard is a Noble Activity in life and that indirectly contributes to the country's food production requirement..

That growing vegetables becomes equally a very interesting activity with many families wherein parents do that part time job actively involving their children who in turn with Great Zeal involve themselves in helping Mother Nature equally learning

A FEW LESSONS FROM THEIR ORIGINAL MOTHER..
  • The process starts with initial digging of the soil and making demarcated areas for various categories of vegetables plants and mixing the selected manure with the soil..
  • The next job is taking the seeds of varieties of plants dried specially for germination and position them a few inches below the soil and cover up with soli..
  • That job done, watering the seeded areas twice daily becomes the next job for few days..
  • Then it remains an exciting day, when the ground starts breaking where seeds are implanted and the budding plants come out in various shapes..
  • Some of them coming up as creepers and few as vertically growing..
  • At that point of time, for creepers a support is to be provided either in the form of a rope or vertical sticks..
  • Now it's a joy to see the plants slowly grow day by day..
  • As the creepers grow, the ropes on which they crept have to be connected to join a meshed platform built at a height..
  • Time moves on, the plants continuously grow and watering them should continue..
  • If outer fence exists, there is no problem but if the back yard is open, individual plants at least need local fencing to protect them from stray animals..
  • Then the D-day comes when the mature buds bloom..
  • The flowers of each plant are different, many bloom in the morning hrs and fade by evening a few blooming by evening and fading by morning..
  • After few days, the plants start yielding baby vegetables ready to grow into ripened vegetables after cross pollination..
  • Some of the baby vegetables fade away and some grow day by day as per Nature's Selection..
  • Now, it's time to protect growing vegetables from stray animals, insects and pests..
  • Additional fencing and making use of pesticides are resorted to at this point of time till they ripen/grow enough for consumption..
  • Plucking carefully the mature vegetables without harm to the plant becomes an important job at that point of time and beyond store them safely..
  • That way, the yield comes as bumper crop a few times in the year towards the end of the season for each variety..
  • The last phase of this entire task has 2 stages..
  • Leaving few good vegetables to become fruit and subsequently allowed to dry up for seed collection for the next year..
And
  • Cleaning up the dried out plants and keep the area ready for the next seasonal crop!
The entire process no doubt is a tiresome job and done in the open area well exposed to sun, rain and wind definitely contributes to our health and finally

THAT MEHENAT KA PHAL HOTA HAI KYA?

Other than

SURE MEETAAH!
